Morning,
Afternoon,
Good evening.
We're going to start off with a poem from Dennis Warren.
A few of these in the past.
We have everything we need in this moment of awareness.
Everything we need to be what we are capable of being.
Everything we need to do what we are capable of doing.
It's important to remember that what we are capable of and what we wish for may be two very different things.
Our lives will unfold at their own pace and their own rhythm.
This can't be forced or changed.
Our role is to see deeply into these truths and align our intentions and actions accordingly.
And that's what we're doing when we're sitting.
So-called enlightenment,
And I don't like the term,
But it is used occasionally,
Is just the natural state.
It's the state of wonder and joy which is the natural state.
Until we start getting involved in self-centered,
Ego-centered thinking.
And then there's a misidentification happens.
It's quite simple.
It's really identification with thinking.
Overidentification.
What mind says is true,
Of course it is.
Mind is a tool.
So that's why we sit still.
Without trying to get anywhere,
We allow it to unfold.
We see again and again just the torrent of thoughts that are running our lives.
See,
For most of us,
Not living our lives,
They're being run by our core beliefs.
We never decided to have a core belief.
Is programmed in.
And that's why we suffer.
That was the Buddha's point.
His primary point.
As misidentification.
You saw it clearly.
Arose.
Millions of others have seen it,
You see he was one of the early ones who was able to Be clear in this teaching,
That's really it.
It wasn't anything special.
So let's take a couple of deep breaths.
Any emotions around,
Just feel them.
Don't repress them.
Don't repress your thoughts.
Use the mantra if you wish.
Sharing,
Showering in sync with the breath.
For a few minutes.
Being nobody,
Going nowhere.
What's happening this very moment?
Sound of a a boss.
I've got the tapping of Ren,
The sound of Ren.
Sensation of sitting on the seat.
Feeling of the movement of the breath.
Air thoughts floating through.
Just declining those invitations from mind.
Coming back to this very moment.
Your actual experience.
Is get out of the way.
Where is your attention?
What's happening?
Make sure you're not straining and exhaust yourself.
Nowhere to get.
Relax into the body.
Just feeling the body.
Feeling the breath.
Listening to the sounds.
OK.
That brings us to the end.
