Good morning,
Afternoon,
Evening.
So.
I was talking the other day about how one way of looking at what we're doing is to.
.
.
Get below thought.
Go underneath thought,
So to speak.
Another way of looking at it is that you go between thoughts.
That's where the space is,
The spaciousness,
The silence,
The stillness,
The peace.
But we miss it.
Our actions often come from conditioning,
Fears,
Anxieties.
And of the conditioning.
But if we start to become familiar with that which is underneath thought or that's not thought,
That's just let's call it presence,
Awareness,
Beingness,
Silence.
Our actions are much more responsive.
Rather than reactive.
That's really all we need to do.
And we don't do this just in sitting meditation,
But during the day.
In fact,
As Zen often says,
Every moment is the teacher.
A third or fourth red light.
You know,
The criticism from the boss or.
.
.
And the airbrush left the bin out too long.
Just mud.
Everything's practice.
Either you say something or you don't.
Doesn't mean to say we don't see anything.
Which is when we get hooked.
We carry that away into the rest of the day,
Or the rest of the week,
Or the month,
Or years.
I'll never forgive him.
I can't forgive her.
For each moment is the.
.
.
Just the release.
Release the thoughts.
Don't push them away,
Don't.
Don't take a stance against them.
Just here.
Allow the thought to Just float away.
Take the attention to that which is not a thought.
The hearing,
The feeling of the breath.
The reason we don't do it is that we're intoxicated with thinking.
Take our identity from thinking,
Because most of it's about me.
And initially this spaciousness,
This in-between thought or prior to thought underneath,
It's not exciting.
But it's never exciting.
But it's what we're looking for.
You could call it home.
A home that you've never left,
You just don't recognise it.
Or we don't recognize it.
OK.
Let's just turn towards our experience,
Welcome everything.
Rest in the body.
Just feeling that aliveness.
Where is your attention right now?
If you are troubled.
You're in self-centered thinking.
Listen to life.
Listening to life is being life.
The senses.
Not thinking about life.
Just checking you are relaxed.
It's your attitude.
There is any tension.
Just feel it.
Oh,
Hello.
Just listening to life.
What's going on?
Let go a little and you have a little peace.
You let go a lot,
You have a lot of peace.
Let go completely,
You have complete peace.
Chen Chao.
What's going on?
Where is the attention?
Dropping the thoughts.
Always with kindness and patience,
Never judgment.
There is judgment.
That's okay it's just a thought What's happening?
Okay,
That brings to the end of the session.
Have a little stretch or whatever you need to do.
