Settling into your practice today,
Begin to allow everything to drop away.
You may like to get comfortable for this meditation in any way that's right for you.
Tuning in to your trusty companion,
The breath,
As you allow it to guide you into this practice with a gentle curiosity,
As you allow your anxieties of tomorrow and your worries of today to begin to drop away.
Finding your breath and allowing it to take you a little bit deeper into yourself,
As you begin to notice all the points where your body touches the ground.
Sometimes when we need resistance in life,
We have a tendency to brace,
Like a brick wall that layers up and up,
Becoming stronger with each set of bricks that is built.
We can try to soften the blow of what is yet to come.
But in doing so,
We can stop ourselves from feeling.
We can stop ourselves from connecting,
And we can stop ourselves from growing into the spaces that exist between what we can imagine and what is yet to come.
In today's practice,
We will look at the gentle art of surrender and how softening can allow us to move and create in these unknown situations,
And allow us to go deeper into ourselves,
Find stillness and bliss when we simply trust and simply be in this unknown,
In this woman in this darkness,
In this incubation.
It is in these spaces where sometimes the only thing we can do is be guided inside,
Is to turn the lights off in the dark room and sing along.
It is going into the cave,
It is following the breath to the space that is maybe not all that comfortable.
It is instead of hardening,
Finding the places where it is possible to soften.
It is allowing our edges,
The edges of our physical structures to blur,
To blur in a way that is not visible to the outside world,
But feels really raw when we go there,
And is incredibly powerful.
All we breathe into these raw and tender edges,
When we really stay in this place,
We can feel that we are deeply and truly held by Spirit and the Divine.
And instead of our burdens and the weight of this resistance crumbling down on us,
We can find that in fact it is lifting us up,
It is holding us from every possible angle.
And when we use the breath to soften a little more into all of those places we haven't breathed into for a while,
We find that that darkness allows us to rest,
Allows us to pause for a while in the outside world,
We find that there are no measurements here,
No objectives,
There is nothing that needs doing,
Or nowhere we need to be,
Right here with each breath allowing the breath to breathe us.
And gently all of those knots we have created for ourselves begin to miraculously untangle,
And all of the stories that we have woven about the lives we must lead,
The things we must do,
And the people we should be begin to crumble.
And through this we begin to allow space for the magic that is yet to come.
We begin to allow new momentum for dreams we have yet to dream and visions that are yet to be birthed.
But more than all of this we give our true self a space to just be.
And it is in returning regularly to this practice of surrender,
To this practice of suffering,
To this practice of being now vulnerable in all states,
That we develop the bravery and courage it takes to birth this part of ourselves into life.
Because dear one,
It is difficult,
But it brings so much peace.
And it is a part of us that is calling on us when that resistance shows up,
When control rears its ugly head.
It is tugging at us to suffer,
To surrender wholly and fully into the arms of the Divine.
So that you may be ever so gently swept up and carried miraculously towards the sun.
Take a few deep breaths here and explore these edges.
Know what it feels like to be warm and vulnerable for you.
And just go that bit deeper,
Knowing that spirit will hold you,
Knowing that all you must do is show up.
And breathe here,
Finding your edge and knowing it is the safest.
And most delightful edge that you can be on.
And just stepping back and being able to see how far you've come and how brave you are.
And continuing to breathe here.
Realising how steady and aligned you are.
Realising how expansive you are in this state.
And continue to breathe here.
Grounding yourself in your softness.
Grounding yourself in your radiance.
And as you come back into gentle awareness of your balanced state of masculine and feminine,
Of the deep love and respect you hold in your heart for yourself and your practice.
Continue to breathe here.
Holding yourself in gentle,
Loving awareness.
And knowing that any time that resistance comes knocking on your door,
You have a choice in how you respond.
You have a choice on whether those walls begin to build or instead you go within and you soften.
Take another deep revitalising breath and begin to feel how your body touches the floor.
As you begin to wiggle your fingers and toes.
As you dedicate your practice,
It may be to yourself,
To another being or to all sentient beings.
Namaste.
Namaste.
Namaste.
Namaste.
Namaste.
Namaste.
