Breathing practice using the word/sound So Hum. When you hear the sound So, take an inhale. The sound of Hum, exhales. The practice will be on three cycles starting with a longer rhythm, moving to slightly shorter, to the last cycle which will be similar to a rapid breath technique.

Hi,

The practice today is SO-HUM.

SO-HUM means I am that.

If you pay attention to the breath,

On the inhalation it sounds similar to SO.

On the exhale,

The sound is HUM.

Through the practice today,

As I verbalize the word or the sound SO,

You will take an inhale.

And on the exhale,

The sound is HUM.

The practice is on a three cycle,

Beginning with a slower SO-HUM and then the pace will get a little bit faster.

On the last cycle,

It will become like a rapid breath movement.

Let's go ahead and begin.

Find a comfortable seat.

Sit a little bit taller than you normally would.

Shoulders are moving down towards the floor and allow for there to be space between the jaw.

If it is comfortable for you,

Let the palms face up on your lap and let's begin.
