Dr Kaplan will talk you through a deep meditative relaxation. Once in this relaxed state you repeat empowering affirmations & visualize yourself in a situation that has been challenging in the past. Envision your empowered self gracefully moving through this situation.
Transcript
Lie on your back with your arms to the side and your palms up.
Take a few deep breaths and come into the here and now.
You are about to enter into a very deep,
Deep state of relaxation.
Let's begin with your toes.
Become aware of them and feel them letting go,
Drifting away,
Deeper and deeper.
Feel this wave of relaxation traveling along the soles and the heels of the feet.
Letting go,
Letting go,
Relaxed.
Your ankles drifting away into this deep,
Peaceful state.
Traveling up the calves and the shins,
Letting go,
Deeper and deeper.
All around your knees drifting away.
Now your upper legs join into this restful state.
Now bring your awareness to the fingers and feel them letting go.
Feel your palms,
Back of the hands and wrists all enter into this relaxed state.
And feel it moving up the forearms and elbows,
Drifting away,
Deeper and deeper.
Now your upper arms let go and join in.
Now your arms are just like your legs in this very deeply relaxed state.
Bring your awareness to your pelvis and keep on letting go until there is nothing left to let go of.
Relax the lower back and abdomen,
Deeper and deeper.
The mid back and upper back let go.
Become aware of your shoulders and feel them melting away into this very deep,
Peaceful state of relaxation.
Now become aware of your neck and let it go,
Drifting away.
Your chin,
Cheeks,
Lips and tongue let go.
Nose,
Eyes,
Forehead and scalp all enter into this deep,
Peaceful state of relaxation.
Scan your body and see if there is any area still holding on and use your mind to let it go.
Now become aware of your breath,
Just observe it going in and going out.
Try not to let your mind wander,
Keep it on the breath.
Now just let your breath do its thing on its own and focus in on your mind,
Observe your thoughts with no judgement,
Just observe them as if you were watching a movie.
Now let go of the mind and go beyond the body,
Beyond the mind and become aware of the deepest aspect of your being,
Your very essence.
The part of you that is always at peace,
The all-knowing part of you that always knows what to do in every situation.
Allow the awareness of this part of you to expand and touch your thumb and ring finger tips together.
From now on this is your anchor,
Your reminder that you have the ability to bring this feeling back into your awareness anytime,
Anywhere.
Now become open to the words you are about to hear,
Silently repeat every affirmation,
Take them in and make them part of who you are.
I take time every day to do what I have to do to maintain my peace.
The radiant purity of my essence of being continuously illumines my mind and consciousness.
I forgive everyone in the past who I feel has created disharmony in my life.
I have learned and I have grown from all my past experiences.
I am free to move forward with joy into the present moment.
I now move beyond forgiveness to understanding and I feel compassion for all.
I love and accept every aspect of myself.
I am made in the image of God and since God is invincible I have the ability to overcome all obstacles.
I am free from worry,
I am happy and I do the best I can.
I easily become aware of any tensions that are building up in my body and I can release them with deep breaths.
I choose to spend time with people who are supportive.
When I dare to be powerful,
To use my strength in the service of my vision,
Then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid.
Now use your power of visualization to see yourself in a situation that you have perceived as stressful in the past.
Clearly see yourself taking charge and flowing through this situation with decisiveness,
Calmness and power.
How does your body look as you confidently maneuver through this experience?
What does your face look like?
How does your voice sound?
How are others responding to your grounded,
Peaceful and strong presence?
Feel the empowerment.
You are taking action.
You are kind to yourself.
How does that feel?
Who notices these changes within you?
Who is encouraging you,
Celebrating your peaceful,
Radiant approach to all of life's challenges?
How does it feel to be free,
To take charge and move through your day with strength,
Confidence and joy?
Imagine from now on you are consistently taking action.
You have integrated this new way of being into your life.
How does it feel to be in control and calmly,
Effectively handle all events in your life at peace with this feeling of empowerment?
Who is congratulating you?
Who is encouraging you,
Celebrating your success?
How does it feel to be totally integrated and on purpose in your life?
I invite you to imagine that a volume knob,
Like on an old guitar amp,
Is connected to this feeling of success.
And imagine that right now it is set at 4 and I want you to imagine turning this up to 6.
How does that make you feel?
Now turn it up to twice the volume,
2 and 8.
How is this feeling?
Allow yourselves to be saturated with the vibration of success.
Now turn it up as high as possible to 10 and imagine a wave of fullness soaking every cell,
Every fiber and every part of you with the feeling of success and gratitude.
Keep this feeling flowing and as I count back from 10 to 1 you are going to let go of this feeling and it will slip into your subconscious to become part of you.
You are effortlessly,
Totally letting go of any attachment.
It just becomes who you are.

Let go of any resistance.

Completely open and receptive.

Integrating this new self.

Allowing this feeling to gently move into the files of who I am.

Now completely identified with this feeling.

I easily come back to this place by touching my thumb and ring finger together.

The feeling is now part of me.

This feeling is now integrated.

I am coming back to body awareness.
1,
I am completely present here and now.
Now you can choose to return to your usual level of wakefulness and alertness or drift into a deep sleep.
If you choose to awaken feel your body and mind becoming more aware of your surroundings.
If you choose to sleep let the relaxation deepen.
I will count to three.
When I reach three you will be at your desired level of relaxation or alertness.

His deep voice and slow delivery is very relaxing and healing. He has been influenced by hypnotism practices. He gives the meditant the choice at the end of the meditation to cpme to full awareness or dtift off into sleep.
