Let's appreciate and use this precious time alone,
In the dark,
In your bed,
To enter into a deep reflection and an even deeper state of relaxation,
Letting go of what is no longer needed,
Letting go of the past,
Coming into the present time.
What a perfect time to let go,
To sleep,
To deeply rest your body and allow the deeper aspects of yourself to balance,
Rejuvenate and enable you to enter back into the waking state fully rested and focused.
Lay in a comfortable sleep position,
Make any adjustments to your sheets,
Blankets and pillow to be as comfortable as possible.
Check into your inner voice,
Become aware of anything you have done today that may have affected your sleep pattern,
Something you have eaten or drank,
An upsetting reaction to an encounter or an environmental stress.
Let yourself become aware of it now.
This awareness sets the stage for you to no longer bring this into your life,
To let it go and trust your sleep mind to process and find solutions for anything occupying the conscious mind now.
There is no place you need to be other than right here where you are.
There is nothing you need to do right now other than relax completely.
You will receive many of the benefits of sleep just by entering into this relaxed state.
Become aware of your feet and feel them adrift into a deep,
Deep state of relaxation.
Feel that wave of relaxation traveling through your shins and your calves,
Letting go,
Letting go,
Relaxed,
All around your knees melting away into this relaxed state.
This wave continues through your upper legs,
Letting go completely.
Now focus on your hands and feel them join into this relaxed state.
Your wrists and forearms let go,
Elbows and upper arms drifting away deeper and deeper.
Become aware of your pelvis and keep on letting go until there is nothing left to let go of.
Your low back and abdomen relax.
Your back and upper back and shoulders melting away completely.
All around your neck let go.
Feel your lips,
Cheeks,
Nose,
Eyes,
Forehead and scalp all totally relaxed.
Find your body and see if any area is still holding on and use the power of your mind to let it go.
Now we'll do some deep breathing to enhance this state of relaxation.
At your own pace,
Take five deep breaths and exhale twice as long as you inhale.
Enjoy slow,
Deep breaths while listening to my voice.
If you're comfortable using a mantra,
Mentally say so as you breathe in and repeat the word hum with each exhalation.
So hum.
So hum.
Allow the gentle affirmations you're about to hear to enter into your consciousness.
With no effort,
No need to repeat what you hear.
No need to do anything now but relax,
Remain open and observe your breath.
I relax into the quiet solitude I am now experiencing.
I trust that everything in my life is unfolding exactly as it should.
I have earned my rest for tonight.
My bed is a place of comfort,
Relaxation and deep sleep.
It is safe to let go and relax completely.
Letting go feels so good.
Sleeping deeply is normal for me.
I sleep all through the night and wake up feeling fresh and alert.
I fall asleep easily and peacefully.
My sleep is relaxed,
Deep and refreshing.
I will recall any significant dreams and understand their meaning.
