“Chakra” is a Sanskrit word that literally means wheel or cycle. In the context of spiritual disciplines such as yoga, the chakras are considered to be wheel-like energy centers that are not physically discernable but belong to the subtle spiritual body and connect it to the material one. In this meditation we will go deep into each energy centre to activate and balance each chakra.

A chakra is an energetic center within the auric and physical body of every human.

They are also referred to as discs or vortexes and serve as the non-physical highway through which cosmic energy travels,

Connecting this energy with the physical body.

This cosmic energy is what we call life force or prana.

There are only seven chakras that are considered major.

These seven align with specific,

Vertically stacked key points along the midline of the physical body and are the main centers that yogis and energy workers tend to focus in on.

The word chakra is derived from the Sanskrit word for wheel or cycle.

Our psychological and emotional states can directly affect chakras to become aligned or misaligned.

They can either be active or inactive and in some cases overactive.

Achieving a balance among the chakras and working to release blockages within these energetic points allows prana to flow through easily for a healthy,

Balanced and enlightened existence.

When the chakra system is in balance,

We experience harmony between all systems of the body,

Resulting in a better quality of life.

In this meditation,

We will connect with our chakra system,

Using our attention and intention to activate and align the energy centers of the body.

Sit in any comfortable meditative posture.

Maintain a nice,

Straight back.

Hands on your knees or palms facing up if you wish to lay down for this practice.

Finally close your eyes and mouth.

Let's start by taking a deep breath in through the nose and out through the nose.

Breathe deeply into your belly for the next few moments,

Drawing in as much oxygen as you can,

Expanding your abdominal region with each in-going breath and simply allowing your abdominal region to relax on the outgoing breath.

Allow yourself to relax with each breath,

Breathing in presence and breathing out stress.

Let's start by taking a deep breath in through the nose and out through the mouth.

Feel yourself becoming more and more relaxed with each breath.

When you are ready to let your breath go,

Allow your natural harmonious breath to take place and do not interrupt the flow of your natural breath.

Just simply observe your breath.

Let's start by taking a deep breath in through the mouth.

Let's start by taking a deep breath in through the mouth.

Now,

Centralize your awareness to your chest and disengage from your mind.

Become aware of the sensation of your body.

What does your body feel like?

Focus in on all the little cells that make up your body.

Feel the aliveness in your body.

Now you are going to locate and move up the energy centers in your body.

These energy centers are called chakras.

You will use your attention to locate and recharge the chakras,

Allowing them to balance and align with your natural order.

Now scan your attention to the bottom of your spine,

To the root chakra,

And fix your attention on the center.

It is located at your perineum in between your anus and genitals.

Take a few moments to fix your attention on the chakra and be patient until you feel a subtle sensation of energy there.

Breath moves in the flow of oxygen.

Energy moves in the flow of prana.

Be aware of these two forces.

Breathe in prana to this energy center,

Drawing the air deep into your belly,

Down into your lower chakra.

Visualize a red energy coming in with each breath down to the center.

Feel this center burn up and grow bigger and bigger.

Bring this center to life.

With each breath,

Feel this chakra becoming stronger and stronger in sensation.

The name of this chakra is Muladhara.

The mantra associated with this chakra is Lam.

We are going to chant this mantra together.

I want you to feel your Muladhara chakra as you chant,

Sending love and grace to this center.

Bring your hands into pray position.

Take a deep breath in.

On the exhale,

Chant,

Lam.

Repeat this mantra for the next few moments.

Lam Lam You You Now place your hands back on your knees Feel the sensation of this mantra You Now move your attention to just below the navel Fix your attention on your spinal cord just below your navel Take a few moments to fix your attention on the Chakra Be patient until you feel a subtle sensation of energy here Breathe in prana to this energy center Visualize an energy coming in with each breath to the center Feel the center burn up and grow bigger and bigger Feel the center burn up and grow bigger and bigger Bring this center to life With each breath feel this Chakra becoming stronger and stronger in sensation Feel the center burn up and grow bigger and bigger in sensation The name of this Chakra is Swadhishthana The mantra associated with this Chakra is Vam We are going to chant this mantra together I want you to feel your Swadhishthana Chakra as you chant Sending love and grace to the center Bring your hands into pray position Take in a deep breath and on exhalation chant Vam And on exhalation chant Vam Vam Vam Vam Repeat this mantra for the next few moments Vam Vam Vam Vam Vam Vam Now place your hands back on your knees,

Feel the sensation of this mantra Vam Vam Vam Now move your attention to your solar plexus Chakra located just above your navel Fix your attention on your spinal column behind the solar plexus Take a few moments to fix your attention on this Chakra Be patient until you feel a subtle sensation of energy here Breathe in prana to this energy center Visualize a yellow energy coming in with each breath to this center Feel this center burn up and grow bigger and bigger Bring this center to life With each breath feel this Chakra becoming stronger and stronger in sensation Vam Vam Vam Vam The name of this Chakra is Manipura,

The mantra associated with this Chakra is Ram We are going to chant this mantra together I want you to feel this Manipura Chakra as you chant,
