Thanks for joining me for this Breath of Love exercise for kids and moms.
I can't wait to show you this exercise.
Let's start with you and your mom sitting on the floor.
Sit with your backs leaning against each other.
Sit really close so you can feel your mom's back against yours.
Nice and close.
Take a minute to get cozy and comfortable sitting with your mom.
Now gently close your eyes and feel how nice it is to be close.
Feel the soft,
Warm feeling of your mom's back against you,
Holding you up.
Can you feel her back moving in and out,
Up and down when she breathes?
See if you can feel that.
It's a soothing feeling,
Her back moving in and out,
Up and down.
Now mom,
Start to breathe more deeply.
Breathe in for a little longer,
And breathe out for a little longer.
And feel your child's back against you as you breathe.
Each time you breathe out,
Let your body relax more and more,
So it feels soft and loose like spaghetti.
And kids,
Feel how your mom's breath has gotten bigger.
It's like a bigger wave moving in and out,
Up and down against your back.
Can you feel that?
In and out,
Warm and close with your mom.
Now you can start breathing deeper too.
Hear and feel what your mom is doing with her breath.
Make your breaths like hers.
Feel your body relax more and more every time you breathe out,
Like a soft piece of spaghetti,
So loose and soft.
Hear and feel how your backs move closer together,
And then further apart as you breathe together,
At the same time,
In and out.
It's like you're both riding the same wave.
Keep hearing and feeling your breath moving together.
Change your breath a little if you need to,
So your breath is the same,
In and out,
Warm and close,
Together with your mom.
The air you breathe is always here around you,
Moving in and out of you and your mom,
Keeping you healthy and happy.
It's just like your mom is always here for you,
Keeping you healthy and happy.
When you breathe in the air,
Breathe in the love your mom has for you,
And breathe out the love you have for her.
Feel the breath of love moving through your back,
And your nose,
And your tummy,
And everywhere,
Filling you up every time you breathe,
Warm and cozy and safe.
And your mom is feeling the breath of love too,
Breathing out all her love to you,
So much her breath can't even hold it all,
And she's breathing in your love that fills her up,
In her back,
And nose,
And tummy,
And everywhere.
So much love,
Filling you both to bursting!
Now mom,
With your right hand,
Reach behind you to take your child's left hand.
Gently turn to your right,
And guide your child to turn toward you too,
So you're facing each other,
Holding hands.
If your eyes have opened,
That's okay,
Just close them one time more.
Breathe together for three more breaths.
This time feel the breath of love moving in and out of your heart,
Back and forth,
Warm and deep,
Connecting you always.
And now gently open your eyes.
Enjoy this feeling of loving and being loved,
Always,
No matter what.
Now let's finish by letting your body stretch a bit,
Any way you like.
You and your mom stretch your arms out,
Or your legs,
Give them a little shake.
