Creating Space In The Body

In this meditation, we use the breath to tap into the body to create space and release tension energy that is confining or disrupting our energy flow. Begins with the sound of a tingsha bell and features the Koshi chime in the final few moments. Thank you for listening.

Transcript

Let's begin.

Let's begin by finding a comfortable way to be in the body.

Alligning spine.

Allowing yourself to create a clear pathway for your energy to flow through your body.

Letting eyelids close,

Feeling the soft contact between the upper and lower lashes.

Let's bring our awareness now to the top of the head.

Allow yourself to move from the top of the head all the way down to the bottoms of your feet.

Slowly scanning.

Checking in with the energy along the way.

Allowing yourself to welcome a little more ease anywhere you encounter tension or bracing.

And each time you breathe into a place in the body,

Allow yourself to see it cracking open.

Growing larger,

Filling,

Emerging.

As we crack open this energy that isn't serving us and allow this ill-fitting shell to be absorbed back into the earth,

We create space for ourselves to emerge.

And allow yourself to settle into that feeling of having shed something that is no longer fitting you.

And just creating that openness and that space for whatever energy is in your best interest to fill.

Allowing the energy of the heart to flow through the body.

Bringing our awareness now to the breath.

Let us get intentional about nourishing these places in the body.

Breathing in through the nose,

Feeling the air moving into the body.

Breathing out,

Feeling the air exiting the body.

Feel as you follow the breath through the body.

What happens as we nourish ourselves in this way?

Noticing the effect of the breath on the throat,

On the collarbone,

On the high chest,

On the ribcage,

The shoulders,

The heart space,

The lower chest,

And the belly.

Feeling your body,

Your energy beginning to wake to this rhythm,

This rhythm of energy flow that begins to circulate to create a current of its own.

And as this current circulates,

I invite you to imagine it reaching further and deeper into the depths of your body.

Imagine the inhalation traveling all the way down to the tailbone and the exhalation reaching all the way up through the crown of your head.

Breathing in,

Circulating energy.

Breathing out,

Sending it out again.

Perhaps noticing in this moment how the body wants to do this,

How the body naturally falls into the cycle.

Your body has been waiting for us to create space,

To create ease in the body so that it may breathe itself.

Feeling now perhaps as this cycle continues and strengthens that the earth energy is being drawn up from below you.

Feeling that deep connection to the ground.

Feeling now perhaps that sky energy being drawn down toward your crown.

Traveling in particles as if through magnetism.

Lengthening this breath cycle,

This energetic exchange cycle allows us to tap into the continuum of life's energy.

As we remind our bodies,

Once we release and allow our bodies to find this connection,

It becomes automatic.

This is the body's intelligence.

Allowing yourself to stay in this space,

To use this energy to nurture the body.

Seeing any and all resistance that may pop up,

Whether it be energetic,

Emotional,

Or physical resistance be in the space of surrender and flow.

Let the earth's energy well up from beneath you.

Let the sky energy collect above you.

Let the earth's energy well up from beneath you.

Let the earth's energy well up from beneath you.

Let the earth's energy well up from beneath you.

Let the earth's energy well up from beneath you.

From wherever you are,

I invite you to bring your awareness back into your physical body.

Feeling in the physical body that change in the state of your being.

Just taking a moment to have gratitude for the ability to bring yourself to this place.

Taking a moment now to stretch fingers,

Toes,

Ease your way back into your space.
