Hello,
Hello.
My name is Jessica Amos.
I'm a mindfulness teacher,
Life coach,
And the founder of Stay With Yourself,
Which is the practice of being who you are,
Where you are,
Learning to honor yourself in each moment,
Listen from within,
And share that honoring with the world.
The thing I want to talk to you about today is actually prayer,
This idea of prayer.
Now,
Some people don't love the word prayer.
It depends on how you were raised and how you feel about how you were raised.
I was raised going to church,
And prayer was a huge part of it.
I was raised by two very,
Very devout Christian parents who would wake up every morning at like 430 or 5 in the morning.
They would pour their morning coffee,
And they in the morning would do their morning prayers and devotionals together.
And as many opinions as I have about how I grew up and as much work as I've had to do around healing some of my childhood wounds,
I will say that the example that my parents left in this regard and the tenderness and the devotion that I witnessed of them really stuck with me in my life.
And interestingly enough,
As I've grown into my adult life,
This is also how I spend my mornings.
I spend my mornings getting up early,
Pouring myself a cup of coffee,
Getting back in bed just like my parents did,
Reading,
Reading whatever it is I'm studying,
Usually something that is deeply heartfelt.
Sometimes it's poetry.
Sometimes it's – but it's usually something faith-based and spiritual-based,
Not necessarily Christian or religious in that regard,
But something that feeds my spiritual needs in my soul.
And then I spend time in prayer,
And I spend time talking to what I call God but maybe isn't the picture of God that I grew up with.
I spend time journaling.
I spend time processing.
It's really in a lot of ways when I think about it,
It's me connecting with my deepest inner self,
My most wise self,
My most connected self,
The inner meditator,
The inner witness,
The part of me that knows me even better than I know myself.
This is the part of me that I wake up with and I commune with every morning and I talk to.
And to me,
That is prayer.
I'm not talking to something out here,
Come save me,
Come rescue me,
Putting my demands on something else.
What I'm doing is I'm really having the inner conversation with myself,
Making decisions within myself and connecting with the deepest,
Truest parts of me,
Which,
Again,
I think fits really well into this practice of stay with yourself.
So I want to share with you a prayer.
And a friend sent this prayer to me just at the most beautiful time,
And it just landed for me so well.
And I have been saying this prayer every day for actually not that long,
Probably the last month or so.
And the changes that I am feeling on an internal level are so powerful with this prayer.
So I'll read it to you in a minute,
But what I invite is I invite you to just listen with an open heart and open mind.
If there's any language in this prayer that you don't like,
Just trust.
Just trust in the deeper heart of this prayer and that this is something that you get to change and adapt as it feels good to you.
But I see this as almost like,
Again,
Talking to my deepest,
Most loving inner self who knows me by heart,
Who holds me in so much compassion and is connected to that unnameable,
Unknowable source and energy that I deeply believe in.
So I'm going to read this to you and just notice what stands out for you.
It's a little bit of a long prayer,
So you could even close your eyes and just receive the words and just trust that you're taking this into your subconscious.
So even if you don't take everything and something really stands out to you,
Let just a single line,
A single word,
Just reverberate through your heart,
Through your soul,
Through your mind,
And notice what stands out.
And trust that a lot of this work,
Especially prayer work or deeper spiritual work that we do in private,
A lot of it is rerouting our subconscious mind.
So if you're a little scientific and you like connecting with the more scientific piece of belief and faith and prayer,
I really love that stuff.
I love that.
I love the learning about the subconscious mind,
How we get to recondition our subconscious mind,
We get to recondition our belief systems,
We get to recondition what we believe is possible through ourselves,
Through things like this prayer I'm about to read to you.
Okay.
Allow yourself just to receive it.
Stay open.
Here's the prayer.
Divine Beloved,
Allow me to give with complete ease and abundance,
Knowing you are the unlimited source of all.
Allow me to give with complete ease and abundance,
Knowing you are the unlimited source of all.
Let me be an easy,
Open conduit for your prosperity.
Let me be an easy,
Open conduit for your prosperity.
Let me trust.
Let me trust that all of my own needs are always met in amazing ways.
All of my own needs are always met in amazing ways,
And it is safe to give freely as my heart guides.
And equally,
Please let me feel wildly open to receiving.
Please let me feel wildly open to receiving.
May I know my own value,
Beauty,
And worthiness.
May I know my own value,
Beauty,
And worthiness without question.
May I know my own value,
Beauty,
And worthiness without question.
Let me allow others.
Let me allow others the supreme pleasure of giving to me.
Let me allow others the supreme pleasure of giving to me.
May I feel worthy of receiving in every possible way.
Change me.
Change me into one who can fully love,
Forgive,
And accept myself.
Change me into one who can fully love,
Forgive,
And accept myself so I may carry your light without restriction.
Let everything that needs to go,
Go.
Let everything that needs to come,
Come.
I am utterly your own.
You are me.
I am you.
We are one.
All is well.
Deep breath in.
Deep breath out.
Just receiving that beautiful,
Beautiful,
Beautiful,
Beautiful,
Thank you so much for listening to this prayer,
Taking it into your heart,
Into your body,
As much as you are open to receive it.
I look forward to seeing you again soon.
Until next time,
May you stay with yourself today and always.
Bye.
