Welcome to Day 7 in this 8 part Stay with Yourself meditation series on the practice of being who you are,
Where you are.
Part 7 is about listening to your deep inner wisdom.
You can listen to each part of the series individually or in consecutive order with each day building off the last.
Part 8 will bring everything we've learned so far together into a single meditation practice.
Ultimately,
Your meditation practice is your own and each part of this series is an offering,
A gift to you with tools that you can use to create and sustain your own meditation practice.
Take what works for you and leave the rest.
Let's start by bringing awareness into our bodies and our breath.
Sit comfortably in a chair with your feet firmly planted on the floor and your hands gently resting in your lap.
Feel your spine tall and upright and allow your heart space to soften and open.
Tuck your chin slightly,
Drop your shoulders down and back.
Notice that you need to hold your tummy in just a little to keep your spine upright but allow your hips to soften and your heart,
Your legs and your feet.
Feel how you are supported by the chair,
By your spine and by the ground.
And bring awareness into your breath.
Take a deep breath in through the nose,
Out through the mouth with your exhale release tension.
Deep breath in through the nose,
Hold and exhale through the mouth.
Deep breath in through the nose,
Hold and out through the mouth.
Continue breathing this way deep into your belly.
Each inhale imagine your tummy is an empty balloon being filled with air and on each exhale,
Feel your tummy softening and releasing tension.
Breathe into any part of your body that is stiff,
Tense or in pain.
Deep breath in,
Expand with air and exhale,
Release tension.
And come back to your breath at any time.
It's always here for you.
I want you to imagine that you are in a beautiful,
Safe,
Loving and protected environment.
This can be somewhere real or something made up.
But imagine that you are in the safest of places.
Notice your environment,
The temperature of the air,
How it feels against your bare skin.
Notice any sights,
Sounds,
Colors,
Textures.
Take a full 360 turn and just notice where you are.
Feel how safe you are and find a comfortable spot to sit down and rest.
And notice from where you're sitting that a being,
Another being enters this space right in front of you.
You can't quite see them clearly as they come closer,
They begin to materialize more.
This is your wisest self.
This can be an image of any kind of being that comes to you.
But know that however this other being manifests and appears before you,
That this is you,
Your deepest,
Wisest self.
And your wise self is here to speak to you,
To answer your questions,
To give direction,
Input and advice,
To give compassion and empathy,
The safe space where you belong that you can always come back to again and again as often as you need.
Notice that your wise self is smiling at you with so much love and kindness,
With appreciation,
Joy.
Your wise self receives you and accepts you exactly as you are,
Understands you through and through to your center,
To your core.
You are safe here.
Decide how you would best like to be in this environment and this place with your wise self.
You can sit across from one another,
Next to each other,
You can stand,
You can go on a walk together.
Whatever suits you in this safe,
Beautiful place in which you have the full attention and ear of this wise being.
Now pour your heart out,
Share your feelings,
Ask questions about anything and everything if you need direction,
Wisdom,
Advice,
Counsel,
Solace,
Comfort.
Share it now and listen to what your wise self has to say and receive it without overthinking.
If you find yourself getting distracted or overwhelmed,
Come back to your breath,
This environment,
Your wise self,
This sort of practice can take time.
But come back to your questions and come back to listening.
And if you need to pause this recording to have more time to listen or to go and get your journal or pen and paper,
Please do and come back when you are ready.
This wise self,
This deep inner wisdom is always there inside of you.
The more you practice this type of visualization and meditation,
The more acquainted you will become with your own wisdom,
With what feels best and right for you without looking outside yourself for answers,
But knowing that all the answers lie within.
And all it takes is entering this space,
Growing still,
Knowing you are safe and welcome and received always exactly as you are,
That you are seen and heard and understood completely,
That everything goes without saying and all is known and felt deeply and with compassion.
Over time as you do this meditation,
You might see that your wise self shows up in different forms in different ways,
The environment might change,
What you need every time you arrive here will be different and sometimes always the same.
But know that you are wise and your heart and your intuition are strong.
And when you listen to your deep inner wisdom,
To your wise self,
Your heart,
You will not be led astray,
You can trust that the road will continue to rise up to meet you and that the path is friendly.
Obey your heart,
It loves you and has your best interests in mind at all times,
The path of light,
Of flow,
Of joy,
Abundance,
Belonging and peace.
I am going to leave you here for several minutes of soft music.
While you continue to commune with your wise self,
Ask your questions,
Receive answers,
Pour your heart out and receive the love,
The belonging,
The understanding that you are worthy and deserving of.
And take even more time if you need to journal or to write what comes up,
Write your questions to your wise self and then write down the answers you receive.
Whatever is best for you.
Thank you for sharing your meditation practice with me.
May you stay with yourself today and always.
