Find peace and calm as you let go and allow yourself to be carried, and cared for. What scares you most about change and/or not having control? How can you let of needing things to be a certain way and allow things to be what they are? Do this practice every day for 21 days or more for optimal transformation. (Available in 5, 10, and 20-min)

Welcome to the Daily Insight.

My name is Jessica Amis.

I am founder of Stay With Yourself and teacher here on Insight Timer.

Today's meditation is about surrendering to change.

But let's start first with a relaxation and breathing exercise.

If you have the room and the inclination,

I encourage you to lay down on the floor so that the back of your body can be fully supported and you can allow yourself to relax completely and fully.

If you need to pause this meditation to set yourself up for optimal comfort,

I encourage you to do so.

As you lay here,

Feel how the back of your body is supported.

You do not need to hold on to anything.

You can allow yourself to let go and trust that you are held.

Release tension in your neck and shoulders.

Feel your heart space soften and open.

Relax your hips.

Release tension from your legs.

Allow your feet to fall outward.

With your hands at your sides,

Palms facing up.

Relax.

Let go.

Feel your bones sinking into the earth.

Heavy and sinking.

And bring awareness to your breath.

A deep breath in through your nose,

Down into your tummy.

Exhale through your mouth.

In through your nose,

Feel your tummy expanding and exhale through the mouth.

Releasing tension.

One more deep inhale down into your tummy expanding and exhale.

Feel your tummy softening and releasing tension.

Feel free to continue breathing deeply into any parts of your body that are feeling stiff or tense or tight.

And encourage your body to relax as you lay here.

Imagine you are laying on a beautiful beach close to the shoreline with the water gently tickling your heels as the waves roll in and out.

Feel the warm sun warming the front of your body encouraging you to relax and melt and soften.

Feel the soft sand beneath you holding you firm so that you can relax farther into the ground.

And feel how as the ocean breathes and the waves flow in and lap against your feet and hands and the back of your body that you're being slowly carried by these gentle waves flowing in and out upon the shore.

Inviting you,

Pulling you in just a little bit closer.

And you can feel the edges of your body beginning to soften and melt as you become these ocean waves yourself flowing in and out upon the shore.

Numbly,

Cold and unchanging.

You are now a part of the vast ocean,

The great unknown,

The depths and the shallows.

Feel yourself now as ocean,

Vast and great and so gentle as you flow in and out upon the shoreline.

And know that all is well.

That you can surrender to your beingness.

That you are allowed to just be here now flowing in and out.

And anything that you've been worried about,

Concerned with,

Afraid of,

You can release it now and fully relax and surrender to the vastness of the flow of the universe and to life.

You can trust that life is flowing in and out just as it needs to.

And you can let go and allow things to be what they are.

To let go of your need for control or to know what's going to happen next and just flow in and out.

You are whole.

You are contained.

You are complete.

You are enough.

Just as you are here flowing in and out,

Allow yourself to let go.

Allow yourself to release what you're holding onto.

Allow yourself to trust,

To feel joy and relief at not needing to have control or to know what's going to happen all the time.

Life is constantly changing.

And you can flow with that change in and out knowing that all is well.

That you are well.

That you can be present here and now flowing with life.

And as things change and as they come up,

You can respond from this deep sense of peace and calm and trust that all is well.

You do not need to strive or make things better.

You can be here.

Allow this to be enough.

Allow yourself to be carried and held and supported.

Come back to this anytime you need to just releasing within the body and in the mind.

Allowing everything to be carried away and absorbed into this vast body of water.

The source that you are connected to.

Where all is well and you cannot be harmed.

For you are safe and supported always.

As you're ready,

You can feel the edges of your body beginning to form.

And feel yourself back on the beach with the shore gently kissing your heels and your fingertips.

And the sun beating down on the front of your body.

Feel yourself relaxed,

Surrendered,

Allowing life to be what it is.

Allowing yourself to be who you are.

Just as you are without striving or controlling.
