Take a comfortable seat,

Feeling the support beneath you.

Rest your hands wherever feels natural and let your shoulders soften away from your ears.

If you'd like,

Gently close your eyes or soften your gaze.

Let's begin with three centering breaths.

Inhale deeply through your nose,

Filling your lungs completely.

Exhale fully through your mouth,

Letting go of any tension.

Breathe in again,

Expanding your chest and your belly.

Breathe out,

Releasing a little more.

One final deep breath in and a complete exhale out.

Now bring your attention to the books in your life.

These companions have offered knowledge,

Escape,

Comfort and challenge.

They've shaped your thinking and your journey.

I'll offer some affirmations.

Repeat them silently or aloud and take a few breaths between each one.

I honor the wisdom that books have brought into my life.

I can release books that have completed their purpose without losing their teachings.

My bookshelf reflects my current interests and values.

I choose quality over quantity in what I read and keep.

With gratitude,

I can pass books along so others may benefit from their wisdom.

Now visualize your ideal book collection.

See shelves that contain only volumes that spark joy when you look at them.

Each book has earned its place in your home.

Nothing is kept out of obligation or for some day.

Imagine the feeling of lightness as you release books that have completed their journey with you.

Picture them finding new homes where they'll be appreciated and enjoyed.

Feel the satisfaction of having a curated collection that truly reflects who you are and what matters to you now.

When you're ready,

Take one more deep breath in.

And as you exhale,

Gently open your eyes.

Carry with you this clear vision as you mindfully curate your collection,

Keeping only those that bring meaning and joy to your life.
