Discipline can be really hard—it's the version of you that shows up when nobody is watching or when you really don't feel like it. Discipline trumps motivation because you can tap into your discipline when you simply don't have the motivation or any gas left in your tank. In this meditation, we will take a moment to visualize discipline as you get into the driver’s seat of your own life. Picture yourself behind the wheel of a car, the open road ahead. The discipline to turn the car in the right direction, to follow through on the journey, is within you. This is a great meditation to use when you want to tap into your discipline.

Discipline is the strongest form of self-love.

It's ignoring current pleasure for bigger rewards to come.

It's loving yourself enough to give yourself everything you've ever wanted.

Connor Beaton.

Hey,

Hannah here,

And I welcome and acknowledge you for being here.

Today's meditation is on discipline.

You can listen to this meditation seated,

Lying down,

Or even going for a walk.

Tune in to what your body needs at this time.

If it's available to you,

Gently close your eyes and take a few deep breaths in and out.

Feel the support beneath you and allow yourself to relax into this moment.

Let go of any distractions of the past or thoughts about the future.

Together let's practice a few rounds of box breathing as we invite our mind,

Body,

And soul to drop into the space.

Inhaling through your nose as you fill your belly with air for a count of four.

Breathing in,

Two,

Three,

Four.

Hold your breath at the top,

Two,

Three,

Four.

Fill out your mouth,

Two,

Three,

Four.

Hold at the bottom,

Two,

Three,

Four.

Another round.

Inhale,

Two,

Three,

Four.

Hold,

Two,

Three,

Four.

Inhale,

Two,

Three,

Four,

And hold,

Two,

Three,

Four.

One more round,

Inhale,

Hold,

Exhale,

Breathing in,

And letting it go.

Notice how you feel after just three rounds of box breathing and know that is available to you at all times.

Allowing your breath to return to its natural and normal cadence without trying to control it,

Just observing your breath as you inhale and exhale.

Bringing to mind the quote from Connor Bean,

Discipline is the strongest form of self-love.

It's ignoring current pleasure for a bigger reward to come.

It's loving yourself enough to give yourself everything you've ever wanted.

Reflect on these words for a moment.

What do you love yourself enough to do?

To keep your word,

To follow through with the promises that you made to you.

Discipline can be really hard and sometimes not so fun,

But it's the version of you that shows up when nobody's watching or when you really don't feel like it.

Discipline trumps motivation because you can tap into discipline when you simply don't have the motivation,

Can't find the inspiration,

Or don't have any gas left in the tank.

Let's take a moment to visualize discipline as you get into the driver's seat of your own life.

Picture yourself behind the wheel of your favorite car on the open road of your favorite trip.

The discipline to turn the car in the right direction,

To follow through on the journey is within you.

Sure,

You may have to take some pit stops and detours along the way.

You may run into some unexpected weather or car repairs.

And yes,

Your vision of your final destination might look a little bit different than where you actually end up.

But the magic is in the discipline of showing up for the journey,

Regardless of the final destination.

Breathing into your heart,

Feeling this heart-centered discipline,

Discipline for self-love.

Imagine each action you take,

Each decision you make,

As a turn of the wheel guiding you closer to your dreams and desires.

With every breath,

Feel the strength of your commitment and the power of your resolve.

Seeing the road ahead with all its curves and bends,

Knowing that each challenge,

Each moment of resistance is an opportunity to reinforce your self-love.

Take a moment to consider an area of your life where you'd like to cultivate more discipline.

What small,

Consistent action can you take to align yourself with your goals?

What promises can you make to yourself?

And most importantly,

Keep.

As you breathe in,

Feel the energy of discipline filling your entire body.

As you breathe out,

Releasing any hesitation.

Inhale the power of discipline.

Exhale the weight of resistance.

Remember,

Discipline is a journey,

Not a destination.

It is a daily practice of choosing love over immediate gratification.

It's about giving yourself the space to grow,

The time to heal,

And the freedom to become everything you've ever wanted.

Embrace the strength that lies within.

Feel the support of the earth beneath you,

The air around you,

And the love within you.

You are capable,

You are worthy,

And you are disciplined.

Inviting in a deeper inhale and a cleansing exhale.

Feeling some movement in your fingers and toes.

Slowly bringing yourself back to your awareness and surroundings.

Floating both hands to rest on top of your heart.

Acknowledging the discipline and love within.

And acknowledging all emotions and all experiences that you carry,

Because all of you matters.

Whenever you feel ready,

Gently floating your eyes open,

Sending love and peace to you today.
