Britney Burgunder says,
Forgiving yourself,
Believing in yourself,
And choosing to love yourself are the best gifts one could give themselves.
Hey there and welcome to your meditation on grace and self-forgiveness.
You can listen to this meditation seated,
Lying down,
Or even going for a walk.
Tune into what your body needs at this time.
If it's available to you,
Gently closing your eyes and simply taking a few deep breaths in and out.
Feel the support beneath you and allow yourself to relax into this present moment.
Let's take these first few moments to practice mindful breathing.
Simply focusing on your deep belly breaths as you inhale through your nose and an open mouth exhale as you breathe out,
Bringing your mind,
Your breath,
And your heart into coherence.
Focusing on that inhale and releasing your exhale.
Repeat this breath patterns a few more rounds on your own.
And when you notice a thought,
Congratulations for noticing.
This is a really big step of awareness.
And here you get to grant yourself grace.
Trust that if this thought is important,
It will come back to you later.
And for now,
Imagine yourself at the foot of a river and each time you notice a thought.
Simply placing a feather on the river and allowing it to float out of view.
You are now practicing mindfulness,
Which will enhance all parts of your life outside of this practice.
You've got this.
As you continue to breathe deeply,
Bring your awareness to the idea of grace and self-forgiveness.
Granting yourself grace.
Reflect for a moment on what grace and self-forgiveness means to you.
How have they shown up in your life?
Are you able to forgive others easily?
And what about yourself?
Are you able to grant yourself grace and forgive you?
This is not a gotcha,
Simply an opportunity to observe your thoughts with a nonjudgmental awareness.
We are all intrinsically unique and flawed as humans.
Thank goodness we are not robots.
We get to make mistakes,
Learn from them,
And grant ourselves grace through self-forgiveness.
This is what makes us human.
It is through these experiences that we grow,
Become wiser,
And cultivate more love and compassion for ourselves and for the world.
Gently tuning back into your body,
Just noticing any areas of tension,
Allowing yourself to reflect and relax.
Inviting in some full,
Deep breaths into those areas that might feel tension.
Allowing a light to come from within.
Allowing this light to represent grace and self-forgiveness.
Allowing grace and self-forgiveness to be alive and present in your body.
And with each breath,
Feeling this light expanding,
Filling your entire being with love and compassion.
As you continue to breathe deeply,
Repeat the following affirmations,
Silently or aloud.
I forgive myself for any past mistakes or shortcomings.
I am human and I am worthy of love and forgiveness.
I choose to let go of any guilt or shame.
I am deserving of grace and compassion.
I embrace my flaws and imperfections,
For they make me who I am.
I am enough,
Just as I am.
Inviting in some deeper inhales and some cleansing exhales.
Remember grace and self-forgiveness are available to you.
Embrace them and let them guide you on your journey of self-discovery and growth.
As Brittany Burgander says,
Forgiving yourself,
Believing in yourself,
And choosing to love yourself are the best gifts one could give themselves.
Allowing this sentiment to be alive and present throughout your entire body.
Silently inviting some movement as you wiggle your fingers and toes.
And floating both hands to rest on top of your heart space,
Acknowledging the love and forgiveness for you and all that you carry,
Because all of you matters.
Inhale and exhale,
Closing your eyes open,
Sending you grace,
Love,
And peace.
