All right,
Just taking this first moment to think in to your physical body,
Gently floating your eyes to a close if that feels good and comfortable for you,
Or just gazing your eyes at one thing in particular,
Feeling your feet planted to the ground,
And we'll just begin with a few big belly breaths.
We'll breathe in through our belly,
Filling up that belly with space,
Breathe in through our chest,
Hold at the top,
And then exhale through our mouth,
Letting it all out.
One more two-part breath,
Breathing in through your nose,
Filling that belly,
Filling that chest,
Pause,
And exhaling out your mouth.
Last two-part breath,
Breathing in through your nose,
Filling up your belly,
Filling up your chest,
Pause at the top,
And slow gentle exhale out your mouth,
Letting your hands rest in a comfortable position,
And just noticing how three intentional breaths feel in your body,
Allowing any of those swirling thoughts to slow down just a bit,
And when a new thought arises,
Gently acknowledging it and letting it float away,
Just as if you're placing a white feather in a river and watching it gently float out of sight,
Inviting in all parts of who we are,
All of our emotional experiences,
Everything counts,
Everything makes up the whole human that you are,
And then we get to intentionally curate which thoughts are serving us,
Which creates certain emotions,
Which translates to action,
Taking back the power of your own mindset ship.
That's the catalyst of true and ultimate transformation.
I'm going to read us a guiding passage from Rihanna's wife's book,
The Pivot Year.
Just allow these words to wash over,
Poking in what resonates and letting go of the rest.
One day,
You will wake up and realize that the pieces all came together faster than you thought,
And in a way you never would have imagined.
You will see the purpose in the lesson,
In the pacing,
In what left and what stayed.
You will see you've carried everything you've ever learned with you,
That all that wisdom is still inside.
Most of all,
You will see that it's still imperfect and always will be.
Arriving isn't a matter of completing,
As that would be the end.
Arriving is a matter of trusting it's all going to be okay.
And just allowing the sentiment of those words sit with you,
Allowing yourself to arrive,
Which is not a matter of completing.
Completing is what happens at the end.
Really allowing yourself to be in the present moment,
Which is your purpose,
All connected,
Trusting in mother nature,
In a higher power,
In your soul voice,
Whatever that means to you,
That you are being taken care of,
And that everything is going to be okay.
Maybe you're in the middle of a project,
Maybe you're anticipating the start or completion of one,
And just having this time to take a step back,
Bird's eye view,
And cherishing the version of you that carried yourself along every step of the way.
The version of you who made the right choice at the right time with the tools that you had,
Trusting yourself enough to not live in the past,
To not re-contemplate decisions you've already made them,
Let them be so,
And meet yourself here.
Meet yourself where you want to go,
Embodying all elements of the future you now,
Bringing to mind this highest version that you hold of yourself.
What do they look like?
What do they fill their day with?
How do their spaces feel?
Do they have community?
Do they have children,
Grandchildren?
And if you were to tap into this highest version of yourself,
What wisdom would they have to share with you?
Just taking these next few moments in silence,
And just tuning into your heart voice,
And just gently noticing if you've drifted away,
And inviting your mind back to the present,
Back to that heart space,
And back to your breath.
Breathing in,
Letting it out,
Tuning into that breath as your ultimate grounding connection to this present moment in your present body.
What a gift it is to be,
To feel,
And to give this time to yourself.
Taking another cleansing breath in,
Deep exhale,
This time following the breath all the way to the bottom,
Extinguishing any staleness,
Any energy that is not yours to hold on to.
When you find the very bottom of the breath,
Inviting back in a deep gulp of air,
Allowing that feeling of rebirth,
Feeling revitalized,
Inviting in the emotional experience that you wish to have,
And gently bringing both palms together,
Rubbing them in front of your face,
Just creating some friction between your palms,
Movement back in your body,
And then bringing both hands on top of your heart,
Really feeling your heartbeat.
Take a second to find it.
When you find it,
Giving yourself some grace,
Some love,
Some acknowledgement for being here and taking the time to connect,
And whenever you feel ready,
Gently floating your eyes open.
