Welcome to this meditation.

Thank you for the trust of choosing me as your guide.

During this practice you will meet a part of yourself that you might have been disconnected from.

This meditation is one out of two that help us to develop a healthy balance between our shadow and sun child and from there act out of a stable foundation of trust in life and ourselves,

Which in the end means to develop a healthy level of self-confidence as the adult that we are.

Right now let's focus on connecting and embracing our shadow child.

Find a comfortable position either sitting or lying down.

Close your eyes and draw your attention towards your body.

Isn't it surprising how easily your body knows what it means for you to feel comfortable?

It is an experience that you can always create whenever you want to get some distance from your everyday life.

The more often you practice the easier you arrive right here and now in the present moment.

With the next inhalation start to breathe in calmness,

Balance,

Ease and peace.

With the next exhalation let go of tension,

Unease and sorrow.

Breathe in calmness,

Balance,

Ease and peace.

Breathe out and let go of tension,

Unease and sorrow.

With every breath you get more and more comfortable and let go more and more of what you're holding onto.

You feel relaxed and even more comfortable.

Your shoulders drop further,

Your jaw unlocks behind your closed lips.

Breathe and let go.

Feel where in your body you can release more and more tension and become more and more loose.

With every inhalation you spread the tranquility within you.

With every exhalation you let go more and more.

You feel calm,

Balance,

Ease and peace.

The soft and silent space within your body becomes larger and larger.

You are right here,

Right now.

This moment is yours.

It is perfectly safe and beautiful just like you.

And as the silent space within your body opens up more and more you can dive into it,

Into the core of your subconsciousness and your inner wisdom.

You dive into the depth of this space within you.

Warm,

Calm and safe.

Now you can see a door appearing in front of your inner eye.

It leads you to a different world,

The other side of your consciousness.

What does it look like?

What is it made from?

Glass or maybe wood?

What is its colour?

White,

Golden or maybe a completely different colour?

When you are ready,

Open the door and step through it.

You find yourself in the most beautiful landscape,

A place within nature where you feel totally at peace.

Take your time to look around.

Enjoy the colours and all the details you can see.

Is there anything you can smell?

Maybe you can feel the sun on your skin.

Perhaps you can hear the sea or maybe a little river running.

In the ground beyond your feet feels comforting,

A wonderful place to linger.

Come further away you can see a child coming closer towards you.

It is your shadow child.

You know this because she reminds you of yourself as a child.

What does she look like?

What kind of haircut does she have?

What clothes does she wear?

Does she have a cuddly toy?

Go up to her.

Welcome your shadow child in your own personal way,

Just like you would welcome a child that you deeply love and want to protect.

It is time for you to take over responsibility for your shadow child and you feel how the adult part of you straightens and stands tall.

Now ask your shadow child whether she wants to share something with you.

Ask her whether there are things that she is afraid of.

Ask her about her negative beliefs towards herself.

Maybe she believes that she is not good enough.

Maybe she believes she always has to behave herself.

Maybe she believes she is a failure or maybe something completely different.

Ask her for her very own negative beliefs and listen to her answer.

Now ask her how she feels when she thinks that way.

Ask the child about her feeling towards herself.

Sit down with her.

Kindly listen to your shadow child.

Show her that your attention is completely given to your dialogue.

And then start to explain to her about how things were with her parents all those many years ago in childhood.

Maybe her parents were over-strained in some aspects.

Maybe it was only one parent that was difficult and strained.

Maybe her parents were fully over-strained or even really bad with the child.

Explain your shadow child that her parents also had parents who didn't make everything right.

Let her know that her parents also already carried wounds and scars from their own childhoods that had never been healed.

And tell your shadow child that this pain was what caused all the negative behavior they showed towards her.

Explain to the child that it was never her fault when mom and dad reacted badly.

Let her know that she's free of any guilt for the challenges of her mom and dad.

Your parents' mistakes don't lie on your shoulders.

If they couldn't cope with life,

They should have sought help.

It is also not your fault if your parents didn't love each other.

Imagine your parents didn't make all these mistakes.

Imagine they had been whole and healed and they had done things right.

Or maybe you prefer to imagine different parents for yourself.

And now,

Explain to your shadow child that if this had been the case,

She wouldn't know how grateful and glad her parents would have been to have such an amazing little girl.

Tell her that she's totally welcomed by her healed parents.

Tell her that she's loved just the way she is.

Still there are certain rules to follow,

But you know that they deeply love you and that they never ever would exchange you for any other child in the world.

You are welcome.

You are worthy.

You are enough.

You are wanted.

You are allowed to have your own will.

You are allowed to feel your feelings.

You are allowed to be you.

Your parents are so proud of you.

Explain to the child that you are her adult self.

Tell her that you will take care for her from now on.

Let her know that she will never be alone again as you,

The good caring adult,

Will take care for her.

Assure your shadowed child that you're going to explain to her the situation with her parents.

Again and again until deep down inside she understands that she is absolutely enough just the way she is.

Now get ready to make your journey back to the present.

If you prefer,

You can leave your shadowed child here in this safe place inside of you.

There are guardian spirits around that will care for her,

But you can also take her with you.

Take some time to look around and farewell this beautiful landscape.

You can come back to this place whenever you want to.

It is always there.

Now go up to the door again leading you back to the outer world.

As you walk through it,

Your thoughts carry you back into the room that you are in right now.

Feel your body,

Your hands,

Your feet.

Move and stretch a little.

Open your eyes and completely arrive back in the present moment.
