And welcome to this guided meditation to connect with the Great Mother.
The Great Mother is a force of creation,
Intuition,
And boundless wisdom.
When you connect with the Great Mother,
She gently guides you to trust your own inner knowing,
Embrace your cycles of growth,
And walk your path with deep love and devotion.
My intention in creating this meditation is so that you can experience a felt sense of deep nourishment,
Love,
And support from the Great Mother.
She is here for you always,
Waiting for you to access her within yourself,
To remember your connection to your true essence as a wise,
Mysterious,
And powerful source of creative life force energy.
So if you're ready,
Let's begin.
Coming into a comfortable position in a quiet place,
Mentally surround yourself with a zone of silence,
As if you have drawn a veil between yourself and the world.
Gradually,
Begin to slow the rhythm of your breath as your eyes close.
As you inhale and exhale,
Let your breath carry you deeper and deeper within.
Sinking into your seat,
Feeling yourself here in this safe space,
Ready to connect with the Great Mother.
As the distractions of everyday life slowly fade away in the background,
Let your awareness drop down into the inner chamber of your heart.
Bringing up an image,
Finding yourself walking along a path that leads you further and further away from civilization,
And deep into the heart of an anxious forest.
As you follow this trail,
Imagine that you are winding around and among trees that are hundreds of years old.
Flowers carpet the ground and birds sing.
In the distance,
You hear the muffled roar of the ocean waves rising and falling,
Creating a beautiful melody to your ears.
Soon,
The path you are on brings you to a tiny crumbling stone sanctuary,
Thickly covered with vines and branches.
A place so old and hidden,
It seems to have been forgotten by time.
It is clear that no one entered this chapel in centuries,
Perhaps even thousands of years.
Intuitively,
You sense that something mysterious,
Yet deeply familiar,
Lies within this ruin.
Slowly and curiously,
You push open the door and enter.
As soon as you step through the door,
Something old and timeless opens within your soul.
Once across this threshold,
You find yourself immersed in an atmosphere that is sacred and holy.
Vaulted ceilings arch over a rough stone altar at the front.
Candles are burning bright,
And there is a smell of fragrant incense in the air.
On an altar stands a statue of a female deity,
The Great Mother.
Her face is old and dark with time.
The lines on her body are worn from the touch of praying hands that you cannot even tell what religion she belongs to.
She is the Great Mother,
God as a woman.
The one to whom the world turns in all its grief and suffering.
She is Sophia,
Quan Yin,
Mother Mary,
White Buffalo Woman,
Isis,
Hathor,
Inanna,
And Demeter.
She is all the feminine faces of God,
But she is more than that.
She is the Mother of Life.
Kneeling before her in reverence,
You bow your head in prayer.
Immediately,
You are embraced by her being,
And the cares and worries of the world fall away,
Soothed in her loving acceptance of all your human faults and frailties.
Entering deeply into your meditation,
The statue you are praying before suddenly comes alive as a real being,
And now you find yourself before the mystery of the Living Mother of all creation.
As she comes to life,
The chapel fills with a warm,
Golden light.
Now the face of the Ancient Mother becomes animated with feeling.
Seated before her,
You gaze into each other's eyes.
She penetrates your soul with a glance that loves you to the core of your very being.
Emotions of sweetness,
Love,
And compassion emanate from her,
Sweeping over you in waves of bliss,
Healing all the parts of you that are hurt and wounded.
She opens her arms to invite you in,
And you step forward graciously to surrender into her warm embrace.
You become like a little child with its mother.
You touch her hair and her face in awe of her timeless beauty,
And you can feel her loving affection for you in return.
You feel a deep sense of belonging with this mysterious,
Magical,
Wise woman,
As if you were held in the womb of the cosmos once more.
You feel safe in her presence and at home.
Gently,
She kisses your forehead,
And you feel a powerful energy move through your body,
A holy energy,
A vibration of remembrance of your own human divinity.
Holding you to her bosom,
You feel her heartbeat in sync with hers,
With the rhythm of life itself.
You feel nourished,
Rejuvenated,
And relaxed.
This ancient,
Godly mother looks at you with her eyes as if peering deep into the truth into your soul.
She starts to speak to you words of encouragement and empowerment.
Take a moment now to listen,
See,
Or sense any messages that are coming through from the Great Mother.
What does she want you to remember that you may have forgotten?
Feel her heart speak to yours.
Feel her soul's wisdom speak to yours.
The Great Mother is within you.
Listen and receive her guidance with love and reverence.
Now slowly take a slightly deeper breath in,
And exhale through your mouth,
Beginning to return your awareness to your body,
Seated before the ancient mother in prayer.
As you take your next inhale,
Take into every cell of your body her nourishing,
Life-sustaining love for you.
And as you exhale fully,
Let this energy flow out of you like a river of grace,
Watering your life and all those you know and care for with a stream of blessings,
Peace,
And joy.
You bow once before the Great Mother,
And slowly rise to your feet,
Making your way out from her humble little sanctuary,
Closing the door behind you.
As you follow your way along the path back to the life you left behind,
Remember that you carry within your heart a precious secret,
Faith in the goodness of life,
The gift of unconditional love,
Compassion,
And full acceptance from the Divine Mother herself,
From the world.
