Before we begin,
Just know this.
For the next few moments,
Nothing is required of you.
You are not needed,
You are not responsible for anything.
Everything can wait.
This moment is for you.
For just a few moments,
You are allowed to set the world down.
I encourage you to make your environment private and personal for just these few minutes.
This practice is meant to guide your transition from work mode back to humanness and softness.
Maybe you're in the car before you start your commute,
Or beginning transport of your children to their activities.
Maybe you're in your office with the door closed before leaving.
Maybe you're able to be outdoors with headphones before you move to your next commitment.
Wherever you are,
This moment is for you.
Let's begin.
Take a slow breath in through your nose,
Gently and effortlessly,
And then let it fall out of your mouth.
If it suits you,
I invite you to join me in a timed breath.
In for four,
Out for six.
Breathing in,
Two,
Three,
Four,
And out,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six.
Let the exhale be longer than the inhale,
As this is how the body begins to release.
Again,
Draw in,
Two,
Three,
Four,
And out,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six,
And release.
Feel that?
The day begins to loosen its grip.
You may continue with this pace if you like.
You can just breathe deeply if that works best.
And as we continue,
Allow the thought as you breathe in,
I am allowed to receive,
Just letting the words drift through.
And as you breathe out,
Affirm to yourself,
I release what I've been holding.
Again,
Draw in,
Two,
Three,
Four,
And out,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six,
And release.
Again,
Breathing in,
I am allowed to receive.
Breathing out,
I release what I've been holding.
Let the words become quieter each time,
Like they are dissolving into feeling.
Soon,
You may not even hear the words,
Only the experience remains.
Drawing in,
Receiving.
Breathing out,
Releasing.
No need to force anything.
There's nothing to achieve here.
Nothing to measure.
Just allow a gentle return to yourself.
Now bring your awareness to your shoulders,
The place where so much has been carried.
Nothing to do,
Just notice.
And as you continue to breathe in and out,
Imagine everything you've been carrying on your shoulders,
Gently sliding off.
You don't have to push it away,
You don't have to take it away.
You just allow it to slide right off.
Let gravity take it.
Breathing in,
Soft and easy.
Breathing out,
Letting go.
Now notice your jaw,
Your face,
Your brow,
The small places where effort hides.
Let them soften one by one,
Let them melt.
You are not required to be strong right now.
In fact,
You are allowed to just be held by this moment.
Breathing in,
Receiving.
Breathing out,
Releasing.
My dear,
Feel your heart.
Peppered in between the emotional stories is just space.
Place one hand there on your heart if it feels natural.
This is where you return,
Just to simply be.
With each breath in,
Imagine a gentle warmth entering the chest.
Let it be something you invite and allow.
With each breath out,
Let the edges of your day dissolve.
In,
Receiving softness.
Out,
Dissolving effort.
Again,
In,
I am allowed to soften.
Out,
I release what is not mine to carry.
Stay here for a few breaths.
It's okay,
There's nowhere to go yet.
You're still safe in this moment.
This practice has not made you softer.
Instead,
It is helping you remember that you already are.
Effort may still be needed in your life,
But it does not need to live in your body.
And from this place,
You will have more to give,
Because you are no longer emptying yourself to do so.
Take one closing breath in,
Deep,
Nourishing.
And then let it fall away slowly.
If your eyes are closed,
When you're ready,
Open them.
It's time to return,
Now that your softness is a part of you once again.
May you carry this softness with you as something true,
Because you belong to you.
Before you move on to what's next,
I wish you the following.
May you be grounded.
May you be soft.
May you be held while you hold your loved ones.
Thank you for trusting me with this transition today.
Be well and thrive.
