Hey,
It's okay to lay low today.
Maybe you're moving through illness.
Maybe you had big news today.
Maybe you're moving through a wave of grief,
Or perhaps something important to you is coming to an end.
Whatever it may be,
Give yourself permission to come as you are today.
There's honor in always doing the best you can with what you have in the moment.
Today,
You deserve grace.
Not only do we hope that that's grace from others,
But it's also grace for yourself.
Whatever comes today,
You are allowed to bring only the energy that you have to expend.
Because today's best is what you have.
It may not be your best of all time,
And that's okay.
Take a moment now to give yourself that permission.
Maybe you settle into a more comfortable position.
Listen to your body on this one.
Maybe today's practice is performed curled up in a ball,
Maybe with a blanket.
Or maybe you lie on the floor or the grass and just allow yourself to be extended and supported.
Find your way now into whatever it is that brings you some level of physical comfort exactly as you are in this moment.
I invite you to remember that you,
Who you are,
Is not defined by your titles,
By your achievements,
By your outwardly recognition.
In fact,
Definition isn't even necessary.
Just being is enough.
Honoring yourself exactly as you are and who you are.
Of course,
You know that things can be improved,
Or that there are things you intend to grow or to change,
And that's honorable.
It's also honorable to just be.
Accepting yourself with the energy you have exactly as it is right now.
Bring yourself fully into this moment.
Maybe you take a few moments here to turn your attention inward,
Allowing the experience of just being and offering yourself permission in this moment to do less.
To preserve.
Allow yourself to be breathed.
Allow that breath to wave through your body.
Notice your chest rising and falling,
Your belly expanding and collapsing,
Your back and ribs widening and shrinking.
Maybe this is all there is for right now.
Just you,
The present moment,
And your breath.
All anticipation of what's to come next.
That's all your imagination.
And all of the replays of what has already happened is all already in the past.
What you truly have is here right now.
And maybe you allow it to be plenty.
To embrace stillness.
To express breath.
To release attachment.
To do less.
And maybe rather than attempt to design what you think should be right now,
You just observe what there is right now.
Allowing this moment to cradle you.
To hold you and reassure you that another moment will arrive and that you'll be here.
And then another moment will arrive and you'll choose what you do with that new moment.
And then another moment will arrive and maybe you'll lay low again.
And that will be enough.
Because it's okay to lay low today.
And it's okay to lay low tomorrow.
Have faith and know that you will always rise and do your best.
And that your best is different each day.
You can trust in that.
Let's stay here laying low for another moment.
Maybe two.
Just breathing.
If it suits you and sounds comforting,
Maybe breathe deeply.
Before we take this decision to meet the day exactly as we are,
And move on,
I'd like to remind you that this is an option at any time.
And you only need your own permission to do the best you can with what you have right now.
Savor these moments of preservation of energy.
And also know that this also is temporary.
The level of energy you have right now will change.
You will replenish.
You will restore.
This is one of the pieces of moving towards that restoration.
I invite you to take three deep breaths at your own pace,
Whatever you have available to you.
Together we are going to emerge from our practice.
Knowing that we are here with everything that we have.
Maybe you begin to emerge by moving the feet and the toes rolling through the ankles.
Maybe it's a deep breath.
And if your eyes are closed,
Maybe you open them now.
Noticing,
Seeing things as they are,
And meeting them as you are.
May you be encouraged.
May you be safe.
May you be hopeful.
May you be restored.
Thank you for trusting me with these moments.
As you carry on,
I wish you well.
Be well and thrive.
