Hello,
My name is Jen Edwards,
And today I will be guiding you through a scan of the entire body,
Bringing in relaxation,
Restoration,
And recovery into your body's energy and throughout your body's nervous system.
So often in our lives,
We hold our bodies to such a high energetic standard that we don't even realize that our bodies are exhausted and we become habitually caught in the loop of busyness and hecticness and full schedules.
So allow this practice to be your opportunity to bring your body into a relaxed state that can bring in rest,
Sleep,
Or just a moment of restoration and recovery for you.
So intentionally creating the mindset to bring in settling throughout your entire body,
Taking these first few moments of this practice to position your body in a comfortable position,
Whether that is lying down or resting in a seated position,
Where you can allow your muscles to be completely supported so that you can soften throughout your entire body.
And when you have allowed your body to soften and those muscles that so often are holding tension to relax and be supported,
Taking these first few moments now to scan your body,
Noticing if there is any places in your physical body that you can release and soften ever so slightly more.
Perhaps it's your jaw,
Perhaps the back of your neck or your shoulders.
And now begin to softly notice your breath.
Begin to notice without judgment,
Without changing or altering your breath.
Notice how breath feels as it moves through your body.
Perhaps noticing if it's tight,
If it's tense or heavy,
Or perhaps it's spacious and clear.
It's taking this moment to notice your breath body.
Now slowly and softly begin creating length with each cycle of breath,
Adding length to your inhales and length to your exhales.
And with your inhales,
Begin to feel the spaciousness,
The space being created,
Breathing all the way down to the deepest parts of your belly,
Filling your chest all the way up to your shoulders.
And as you exhale,
Can you notice the offloading and the discharging of what is not serving your energetic body?
As well as our exhales are the way our body softens,
The way our body grounds and becomes fully supported.
Breathing full,
Noticing the expansion,
Exhaling slowly,
Contracting,
Feeling the support beneath you,
The rise and the fall of your body with your breath.
Now begin to bring awareness and attention to the bottoms of your feet,
The soles of your feet,
Connecting fully with the soles of your feet as though they are perhaps the only part of your body you can connect with in this moment as you continue with full intentional movement of breath.
Connecting with the bottoms of your feet using your imagination,
Your visualization or sensing full relaxation in the bottoms of your feet,
The soles of your feet relaxed.
Now bringing attention and awareness into all 10 toes,
All 10 toes relax.
Now bringing awareness into the tops of your feet,
The tops of your feet,
Relax.
Awareness in your ankles,
Both ankles relax.
Awareness in your lower legs,
Your lower legs relax.
Awareness in your knees,
Your knees relax.
Awareness in your upper legs,
Your upper legs relax.
Awareness in your glutes,
Your glutes relax.
Awareness in your hips,
Your hips relax.
Awareness in your lower back,
Your lower back relax.
Awareness in your belly,
Your belly relax.
Awareness in your upper back,
Your upper back relax.
Awareness in your chest,
Your chest relax.
Awareness in the palms of your hands,
The palms of your hands relax.
Awareness in all 10 fingers,
Your fingers relax.
Awareness in the back of your hands,
The back of your hands relax.
Awareness in your wrists,
Your wrists relax.
Awareness in your lower arms,
Your lower arms relax.
Awareness in your elbows,
Your elbows relax.
Awareness in your upper arms,
Your upper arms relax.
Awareness in your shoulders,
Your shoulders relax.
Awareness in the back of your neck,
The back of your neck relax.
Awareness in your throat,
Your throat relax.
Awareness in your jaw,
Your jaw relax.
Awareness in your tongue,
Your tongue relax.
Awareness in your cheeks,
Your cheeks relax.
Awareness in your eyes,
Your eyes relax.
Awareness in your forehead,
Your forehead relax.
Awareness in your ears,
Your ears relax.
Awareness in the back of your head,
The back of your head relax.
Awareness in the crown of your head,
The crown of your head relax.
Your entire body from the bottoms of your feet all the way up to the crown of your head relax,
At ease and in safety.
