Welcome to this grounding meditation.
My name is Shauna and I will be guiding you through this practice.
So first off I invite you to get really comfortable,
Really relaxed,
Whether it's sitting or laying down.
Allowing yourself and your body to be a little bit more in this moment.
So letting go of any stress,
Tightness,
Any grip of control that you might still be holding on to from the day or from the day ahead.
Taking a nice cleansing breath if that feels good.
Breathing in through the belly,
Through the nose.
Letting go of the sigh.
And allow your breath to move in and out through your body with ease.
Allowing to its natural flow.
And just check in with the jaw,
Allowing the bottom and the top teeth have space between them.
Even if your eyes are closed,
Being aware of the softness in your eyelids.
Allowing your forehead to be open.
Just to fall down towards the ground,
Towards the bed.
Breathing in to your belly,
Your chest,
Your abdomen.
Now letting go of any tension,
Tightness that might be in that area.
Inhaling into the hips,
The pelvis,
The bum.
On the exhale,
Releasing any tension from that area.
Exhaling into your back,
Your spine,
Your ribs.
Exhaling away any tension,
Tightness.
We'll begin by recognizing the points of contact,
The points of connection that your body has.
To the ground,
To the couch,
To the floor,
Whatever you might be touching with your body.
Notice all of the points where your body is connected to whatever it is that you're sitting or laying on.
You don't have to spend too much time on it.
Just being aware of where your body connects these points of contact.
I invite you to begin to visualize and imagine that from each of these points of contact,
The hips begin to grow from your body down into the ground beneath you.
And with each passing breath,
Each passing moment,
The roots that begin from your body into wherever it is this point of contact are.
The roots grow deeper.
Not just into the floor beneath you,
But deeper still into the ground beneath the house or the building that you're in.
Deeper still past the layers of earth and clay and rock,
Water.
Let go of any limiting beliefs here,
Any limitations or rules and allow your roots to grow deeper and deeper still until they make it to the center,
The core of the earth.
Notice your roots have made its way to the core,
To the center of earth.
I invite you to notice the energy that's there.
When you tap into the energy of the core,
The center of earth with your roots,
Feeling the energy from mother earth moving up the roots past the layers of clay,
Water,
Rock,
Up the building all the way up to where you are,
Where those points of contacts are.
And as the energy of mother earth begins to fill you up,
You begin to bloom.
From the top of the head,
You begin to bloom,
You begin to grow.
This healthy,
Bushy tree.
And just for a moment,
I invite you to be curious and bring your awareness to the tree,
Noticing its leaves,
The thickness of the branches.
How tall is it?
And in this moment,
You recognize that the more that you ground yourself,
The more that you connect yourself deeper into the moment,
Deeper into mother earth,
The bigger that you can grow.
This next moment,
I invite you to recognize where in your body do you feel that same energy of the center of mother earth,
That calm,
But yet very powerful,
Creative,
Abundant energy.
Where in your body,
Where in yourself does it live?
See if you can connect to it now.
As you connect to this energy that lives both within mother earth and yourself,
There's a knowing,
Quiet confidence that comes from this space that will allow you to come back to this space whenever you feel uncertain,
Overwhelmed.
This energy will allow you to come back to clarity and calm.
Taking a nice deep inhale,
Filling up the belly,
Filling up the chest,
Letting it go.
Letting go of any visualization that you might still be holding on to.
Coming back to your body,
Recognizing the sounds that are in the room that you're in,
Recognizing maybe the smells,
Feeling the breath in your belly and your chest.
You're welcome to stay here for a little bit longer if that suits you.
If you'd like,
I invite you to bring your hands together and begin to rub your palms together,
Rubbing them back and forth just until you feel warmth,
Feel the energy within your hands getting warm.
Once they are,
Bring those hands over top of your eyes and take a breath or two.
You can repeat that if that felt good or you can begin to use your fingertips and your thumbs to massage your face,
Rubbing the forehead,
The eyelids,
The temples,
Rubbing the jaw,
The cheeks.
Thank you so much for practicing with me.
Have a beautiful day,
Afternoon,
Or evening.
