Take yourself outside for this meditation and get comfortable lying down on the ground, facing the sky. A beautiful meditation to help you remember you hold the qualities of the sky - open, clear, and expansive. This practice is inspired by the work of the inspiring Tracee Stanley. I recorded this meditation early one summer's morning in the Victorian High Country, Australia. I hope you enjoy the birdsong and nature as the soundtrack for your practice.

So find yourself a quiet spot outside,

Where you can lie down on the ground.

On a day where the sky is clear and blue,

Or if not,

Then just imagining.

Getting yourself comfortable,

Making all those little movements you need to make,

To get yourself settled here.

And allowing your hands to come to rest onto your belly.

And take a moment to notice the movement of the breath in your body.

But you're not trying to change or fix the breath in any way.

And take a moment to notice all of the points of contact between your body and the ground.

You may like to begin at the heels of the feet and just slowly work your awareness up the back of the body.

And inviting all of those different parts of the body to soften and melt into the ground.

With the intention of being willing to receive all that the practice holds for you today.

And then opening up the lens of your awareness to take in the whole of the body as it rests here.

Noticing the movement of the breath and inviting the breath to just gradually deepen and lengthen and even out.

So there's a real sense of smoothness and ease to the breath.

Every exhalation is another invitation to the to soften and let go.

Then open your eyes and gaze into the vast blue sky above you.

Continue to feel the movement of the breath in your body and connecting into the vastness,

The expansiveness of the blue sky.

Noticing your breath once again.

And on your next inhalation,

Breathe into the body.

Breathing into the physical edges of your body.

And then just sip in a little bit more air so that you're breathing into the space around you.

And then slowly exhale.

I'm just doing this another couple of times.

So inhaling into what you can feel as the physical edges of your body.

And then just sip in a little bit more air so that you're breathing into the space around you.

Maintain that connection to that spaciousness as you exhale.

Recognizing the vastness,

The expansiveness in the sky as you.

That you hold these same qualities and opening yourself up to all potentiality.

Opening yourself up to a more expansive,

A more deeper knowing.

A knowing beyond the confines of the thinking mind.

And just letting that breath return back to its own natural cadence.

Noticing the movement of the belly as you breathe.

And then moving your awareness into the center of the chest at the heart.

Breathing into and out of the heart.

And imagining that heart space now expanding.

Becoming open and vast like the blue sky.

And allowing this energy of the heart to slowly expand,

To take in the whole of you.

Feel free to close your eyes and feel yourself as this vast,

Expansive,

Spaciousness.

And resting here for as long as you need.

As you remember this quality within.

This sense of self that connects you to a deeper knowing that will guide you skillfully and wisely and lovingly through your day.
