Welcome to the path of life meditation.
To start,
Sit down with your feet flat on the floor and your palms on your lap facing upwards.
Closing your eyes gently,
Just witness your breath for a few moments.
Let your breath flow in through your nose and out through your mouth.
With each breath,
You begin to relax and become more aware of yourself.
Simply witnessing your breath for a few more moments and allowing your mind and your body to relax even more.
And with each breath,
You are allowing your body and your mind to relax even deeper now,
Letting go of all tensions and stresses and relaxing deeper and deeper.
You are now ready to start your journey.
I would like you to imagine,
Visualize or just believe that you have just stepped into a forest.
All around you,
The leaves on the trees are rustling silently,
Like silent whispers in the distance.
Feel the air around you now,
Maybe slightly cooler as the sun tries to break through the tree tops.
You are standing on a dirt path within the forest and as you look into the distance,
You feel like you are the only one in the world right now.
You stretch out your arms and breathe deeply and give thanks for this wonderful moment of just being.
Now you continue to walk along the path and you start to take notice of how relaxed you have become,
Of how calm and peaceful you are right now.
You take in every sight and sound around you as if it is the very first time you have ever really listened.
What is nature expressing to you?
Listen with your heart,
Take it all in.
This path is like your life,
It seems endless with many exciting possibilities up ahead.
And on each side of you,
The many trees remind you of the people in your life,
Some strong and mature,
Some not so strong and may have a good bit of growing to do.
Whoever the trees remind you of,
For now you fully accept them and continue walking.
The air seems to get warmer as the sun has broken through an opening in the forest.
You stand for a moment to savour the warmth and the feeling of being bathed in the light.
You once again give thanks for this feeling.
All around you,
Silent whispers of the leaves remind you of the people in your life,
Some at the forefront and some at the back.
It makes you ponder on why these people are in you and how each of you have influenced each other.
You decide to sit under a grand old oak tree and take some time to think about these people.
How has each person helped you in your life?
How have you helped them?
Sit silently under the oak tree for a few minutes and see what answers you get.
Listen with your heart and really feel the answers come from within you.
Many thoughts or feelings may arise but again just accept them today that when you pull back all the layers of each person that underneath there is a divine being of light.
Again you give thanks for any answers you may have received and get up and continue to walk on the path of light.
Each step you take is relaxing you even deeper now.
The feeling of calm and peace is not only floating through you but all around you.
As you look again at the many trees on either side of you,
You wonder about the many challenges and obstacles you face in your life.
Could you get around them?
Could you face them head on?
Did some of the obstacles in your life seem to be buried so deep that you were forever digging for the solution?
Look now at the trees around you.
What obstacles or challenges are you still facing in your life?
Some may be more difficult to uproot than others.
But why are they there and what have you to learn from each one?
Again taking a few moments silently ponder on your obstacles or challenges and see what is really holding you back from moving forward.
Look now at the trees around you.
What are some of the challenges you may face in your life?
You have looked at many important issues in your life today.
And as you continue to walk to the end of this dirt path,
You see that there are many paths now leading out of the forest.
The forest has brought you into a state of peace and calm.
This path has given you an opportunity to look at your life.
Stepping off this path now and onto another is always your choice.
You feel excited about where your next path will take you.
You take a deep breath and move out into the sunlight.
And about the many opportunities that are awaiting you.
Smiling,
You step onto your next path in your life and into your own awareness.
