Welcome to this meditation for self-healing.
Find a comfortable seat,
Either sitting up or in a position where your chest can be open.
Rolling the shoulder blades back and down,
Hands can rest on your knees with palms facing up,
Creating openness to invite in new energy.
Closing your eyes,
Inhale deeply through the nose.
Feel the breath as it moves through the throat,
Chest,
Belly,
Expanding.
Exhale through the mouth,
Releasing the breath.
And exhale,
Sigh it out.
Take another deep,
Cleansing breath in through your nose,
Feeling the lungs fill up,
This time releasing through the nose.
Maintaining your natural breath through the nose,
Continue breathing with that focus on bringing in fresh,
Clean oxygen to your body.
Let it wash over you,
And let it go.
Our body and mind crave stillness,
And when we're not feeling our best,
We need to take extra care for ourselves.
Oftentimes when we take time for ourselves,
Feelings of guilt,
Anxiety may arise about all the things that need to get done,
Which makes it difficult for us to think clearly and calmly.
So using your breath to guide you into a state of calm,
Into the present,
To focus on what is needed at this time,
To focus on healing.
Be with the breath,
Observing every nuance,
Every sensation.
Take note of how you're feeling.
Can you feel where there is tension in your body?
Without judging it,
Can you acknowledge it?
Can you let it go?
Inhale,
Acceptance.
Exhale,
Release.
I offer the following affirmation to help anchor you into the present moment.
With each cleansing breath,
I welcome healing.
Let it bring me back to myself.
Let it bring me back to health.
With each cleansing breath,
I welcome healing.
Let it bring me back to myself.
Let it bring me back to health.
If you feel yourself starting to drift away into thought,
Don't resist it.
Just let the thoughts pass.
Use the affirmation to anchor you.
Use your breath to bring you back.
As we come to the end of this meditation,
Be grateful for this small moment you've given to yourself for your well-being,
For making time to slow everything down,
To be present with what is right now.
Return to this simple meditation whenever you need it.
I hope you find a little bit of peace to take away with you into your day.
