Healing Anxiety & Disconnect Through Nature
In times of unease, nature has a profound way of bringing us back to our own true nature. Take a walk with Sez and let her remind you of the ways you are resilient, patient, and strong. Let these healing words settle anxiety and fear, and if nothing else, remind you of your incredible ability to love yourself through what may seem a hopeless moment in time. May your own nature remind you of the light in this world. Note: This contains 5 mins visualization - 10 mins body scan meditation - 5 mins end talk.

Come,
Dear soul,
And walk with me.
Let me show you the ways you are mighty,
Resilient and patient,
Already whole and exactly where you need to be.
Let me show you the ways of your true nature and ease the anxiety you feel right now about living.
Come,
Let's walk together and share the many weights of worry that wear upon you.
Carry your fear into a thousand threads,
Leaving nothing of substance to weave back into life's tapestry.
Into the forest we go,
You and I,
Our feet splintering twig and curling leaf underfoot.
It is a long walk when one has no destination in mind,
But it shall not be so today,
For we are intentional with our destination and earnest in our search for rest.
Take my hand,
Dear soul.
Let me show you your true nature by journeying into the only place you truly recognize your own reflection.
The forests,
The oceans,
The meadows and the mountains.
We all hold the same energy within us,
Made of the same material that fell from stars,
Created on the same spinning wheel,
From the same pattern that weft and warped the galaxies.
Come let us walk into the wild,
Remembering ourselves in each seed,
In every petal,
And each cloud that crosses our way.
The sun dabbles the floor ahead in light and shadow.
Tell me,
Friend,
Do you notice how it takes more than just light to create this masterpiece upon the floor?
So too do the shadows and light play a part in the beauty of who you are.
Let's walk into that clearing where branches part.
Can you see how the flowers grow where there is space given?
So too are you able to grow,
Given a little room to breathe,
To be yourself,
To bloom in your own time.
Notice this moss on the thick trunk.
Can you see your pain in this moss?
Can you see how it grows in the darkness away from warmth and light?
What you might consider an unnecessary disturbance of the beauty to that tree is in fact a fundamental direction,
Soaking up the shadows making it into substance.
From warmth it grows,
Giving you a compass towards your purpose.
See here how easy it is to dig out old weeds,
Brambles,
And pull at ivy in the dead of winter when nature's bones are bared,
When there is no energy left to fight the season.
You can see what is what,
What needs to go,
What goodness there is left in the soil.
So too do the winters of your own life offer you the opportunity to take stock of what needs to change.
Little attention is given to improvement when life is in bloom and lush with joy.
Take heart dear soul that these times are another season,
And one worth bearing your bones to.
Can you see how truly nourishing a plant means tending to its soil,
The conditions in which it grows?
And when it is in a process of healing,
It places all its energy within its roots,
Not its foliage or petals,
Or what others can determine as pleasing or displeasing.
It gives itself up unto itself,
Committing to its deepest and most elemental origins.
So too must you come back to your basics,
In times of anxiety and fear,
Leaving the ego and all its external bravado to tend to what's true within you.
See how the seasons bring different stages that nature changes with,
Never rejecting it nor avoiding the times that require letting go.
For all of nature is flow and adaptation.
It does not blame the cold nor scorching sun for its state,
But sees it as an ever-changing response to what is being offered in each moment.
A constant process of shifting from one thing to another,
Flowing with what it can control,
Which is only ever itself.
See how the debris from last year's fall have collected beneath each plant to form the nutrients that help it thrive.
So too is your old self a foundation for who you have become today,
Nourishing where you now stand with the shellings of who you once were.
There is no shame from what soil you blossom from.
Dark and peaty substances make for the most vibrant blooms.
See how time and patience is all there is here.
That no amount of impatience or yearning to grow faster or change has an effect on the natural laws that prepare you for the magnificence of what you will become.
But if you bloom too fast,
So will your days be short and your withering be hasty.
There is no race to become what you already are,
Only to recognize yourself in each moment as beyond this experience.
Let us sit for a moment now in silence and connect to this wisdom within us.
Close your eyes and plant yourself into your body now.
One breath,
One limb,
One speck of stardust at a time.
Feel your feet,
Not just the sensations of having them but yourself in them,
From the inside out.
Move your attention and breath from your feet up into your ankles.
Breathe up into your shin bones,
Your calf muscles,
Up toward the knees and stopping for a moment here to breathe tentatively into them.
Move this inward attention up your thighs,
Around your hips and joints,
Landing at the base of your spine where all grounding emulates.
Feel the roots of your body here,
Strong and supportive,
Supple and resilient.
Breathe up into your belly,
Feel the ocean within this space,
Calming and resting now.
From the torrid and churning sea to deep still waters,
Your breath is its governance,
The tamer of a thousand leagues and has the power to ease these mysterious creatures of anxiety that live below the belly's surface.
Breathe a little deeper into this area now.
Come back into the spine and breathe yourself taller,
Unfurling like a supple willow.
Let the branches of your lungs stretch out and bow heavy with air,
Each leaf of your lung fluttering inward with every inhale,
Resting for a moment in between breath and then blowing outward again with an exhale.
Notice a bird sitting amongst this tree of life,
An exquisite and powerful crimsoned creature,
Singing the songs of unconditional love.
This bird of heart is your messenger,
Your whisperer of secrets and your guide through the darkest of nights.
She is patient and tender,
The planter of all seeds,
Taking all your desires,
Hopes and dreams under her wing,
Creating the conditions they need from within to help you grow.
Stay open now,
Give her light,
Give her space,
Give her trust.
Continue to breathe now up from the chest area and into your throat,
The place of voice.
Feel throat's connection to heart located close enough to hear each other through soft breeze,
Whispering truths and living in reverence to one another.
Breathe deeply into this area,
Dropping your shoulders away,
Allowing the power of heart-centered conversation to open up and be received.
Keep breathing intentionally into your body,
Now working your way up past the face,
Loosening the jaw and now breathing into the top of your head.
Here we will lie ourselves under the clouds of thought,
Knowing we are not them and they not us.
They are as natural as the wind,
Sometimes humming gentle words,
Sometimes blowing furiously from the south,
Bringing with them voices of the past,
Stirring up those sea creatures from below,
But in truth,
Nothing of substance,
Just shapes and interpretations.
Watch them now,
Coming and going,
Each thought seemingly solid and distracting,
But merely a cluster of ideas forming as an image.
Only when you reach out for that cloud,
Want to call it your own,
By a name,
Grasp at it with clenched fists,
Do you forget that it is merely a cloud that passes on when it is watched with dispassion.
Breathe the sky above clear.
Let the brightness of pure awareness shine through,
Reminding you that there is not only thought in this space,
But emptiness and light too.
Bathe yourself in this light and this space.
Let the black and heavy clouds,
The ones that carry emotional pain,
Precipitate into water drops.
Let them fall upon you and remind you that it takes more than just sunshine to create a rainbow.
Breathe into the nature of your body,
The debris of your past turning into nourishment from where you will grow strong.
The seeds of desire within you,
Entrusted to heart's nest.
The fearful unknown,
Justified by feeling but exaggerated by the mind.
Hold on to what is true,
Hold on to what is real and observe the sky above,
Keeping your feet grounded in truth and wisdom.
Breathe into this blissful harmony of inner and outer worlds.
And when you are ready,
You can open your eyes.
Did you notice how that when you sat still,
Nature came to you,
It became you,
That by seeking for what you wanted to see,
You found nothing but the search itself.
Did you notice how that when you sat still,
Silence came to you,
It became you,
That when you forced silence upon the mind,
The skies thundered in rage.
Cast your attention for one last time,
Dear soul,
Upon the seed in my hand.
It has a destiny woven within it.
It lives in faithful reverence to the mysterious and undeniable energy within it that pulls it towards becoming a mighty oak.
That same undeniable pull resides within you too.
You need only to not resist it,
Not to contradict it with thoughts and fears and action.
In fact,
It is a letting go that is most required rather than an attainment.
Our inner nature is not independent of the laws that rule over our outer one.
So remember,
All is patience,
All is time and allowing.
All is flow,
Unity,
Adaptation.
All is trust,
Guidance and wisdom and above all.
All is love.
Thank you for being here today.
Your support and encouragement really makes a difference,
So thank you for letting me know when these meditations resonate with you.
May you and your loved ones be safe and well at this time and I hope we can connect over the love of words again soon.
