What,

Dear soul,

Makes one belief more true than the other?

Is it not the amount we validate it?

Is it not the energy we give it?

The life we breathe into it?

To let go of a belief is therefore very much like experiencing a death,

For it has lived itself into who we are.

And grief most certainly ripples from the wake of a belief that calls us to lose a piece of our wholeness.

Many lives meander in parallel with the one we live right now.

Some are open and wide,

Some are small and restricted.

They are variants of our current life,

But experienced from a different mindset.

Who would we be without our narrowing beliefs?

What would life feel like if we truly believed that there was nothing wrong with us?

How far would we run if we weren't holding ourselves back?

What would our hearts no longer tolerate?

If beliefs can be what tips us over the edge,

Then they can also become the wings we grow as we fall into the unknown.

With all the roads we already have within us,

What does it take to create a new belief?

What does it really take to forge a new pathway within us that's never existed before?

It takes looking at the path we are walking on right now and seeing where it is currently taking us.

Nothing is more awakening than looking at what already is to gauge what the future will soon be.

What underfoot right now is dry and overworked?

What belief system is currently being trodden down into its bones?

What belief underpins your efforts to change a habit or a circumstance?

If insanity is the belief that we can do the same things over and over again and achieve different results,

Then we are all most certifiable.

We all seem to want the change,

Without having to change.

Usually we can hold an infinite amount of beliefs,

And at times they can seem to oppose each other.

But there is only one of two destinations a belief can lead us to.

There are beliefs that deliver us to fear,

And those that lead us to love.

This may seem too basic,

Too rudimentary for these complex times,

But the most profound healings come from what is undeniably very simple.

It is not always easy to end up at love,

For the path we must walk to arrive there is so often untaught.

It is the path of selflessness,

Of understanding our part in the greater whole.

It is a path of patience,

Presence and vulnerability.

If our thoughts and feelings aligned with those of love,

We would always arrive at love in any circumstance.

We are but human after all,

And are the children of those humans who had to survive,

Who turned on their hearts in order to be safe.

What have we been taught of love if not that it is a privilege few can afford?

Beliefs that separate you from your wholeness in any way are based in fear,

And all fear can do is be itself.

And you cannot overcome fear with more fear.

Only love can alchemize.

This we may know intellectually,

But it is something else to know it inside your body.

Although restrictive,

Fear is smart.

It has a way of dressing itself up in many different guises in order to stay alive.

It can even transform itself into what looks like spirituality or healing,

And then lead us down all the roads that reinforce its need to protect us.

Fear can also dress up as love,

Kind of love that tells us to trust it,

But then makes us feel impatient,

Time-bound,

And conditional.

This is not love.

As with many things of the mind,

In order to heal we cannot physically enter our wounds and patch them up.

We cannot clamp the cord in our amygdala or reattach neurons in places more preferable.

These lacerations within us need to be healed from their core,

From the energy that exists within every cell of our being.

Human uses the power of imagination to create new beliefs.

It is how we perform energetic surgery upon ourselves,

Turns the abstract into matter.

Using the power of imagination to heal has been used for eons and is still being used today to prepare pre-op patients for transplants.

Beautiful cards with hands reaching over to grasp another's can help a patient's new organ to be accepted by the body,

Or patients who imagine themselves tending to a beautiful garden,

Pulling out its overpowering weeds,

Can help bodies fight cancer.

Tending emotional disconnect can start as simply as imagining every morning that our body,

Mind,

And soul are being woven back together with luminous thread.

This is how the intangible becomes the lived.

It's how worlds are created.

How lives change.

Your imagination is a pathway to limitless wholeness,

But it can also be that one-way road that keeps you in a state of brokenness.

Beliefs are,

After all,

Just our imaginations being reinforced by our own energy,

Which is why they need validation in order to stay alive.

What evidence do you find,

Dear soul,

In your everyday life to validate a belief in your sacredness,

In your unconditional worthiness,

In your belonging?

If we cannot find these things then perhaps it is a sign that we have failed our imaginations.

Nothing will offer you a better version of yourself and your life than beliefs rooted in love.

Like walking through a dense part of an untouched wilderness,

The first part of creating a new path,

A new belief system,

Is slow and requires much patience to wade through its thicket.

Not soon you will have your neurological dear path that guides you every time back to what's whole and uniting,

And from there life is truly boundless.

Let us discover what life awaits us beyond our long-held,

Limiting beliefs by creating a new neurological pathway that connects us to openness and receptivity,

A state of being that allows us to really make those changes we've been longing for.

Close your eyes.

Settle down into your body,

This seed where all life swells from.

Take a deep breath and come back to the energy held within your body,

This life force,

This inner ink that paints your life.

Feel your skin,

The entirety of it.

Everything on the other side of your skin exists because of everything within you.

This skin is not a barrier.

You bleed into your environment,

You extend through it,

Into the ground you sit on,

Into the air you breathe,

The sounds outside.

You exist within everything,

As it does in you.

Your true power lies in your ability to see the world as you see yourself.

Kind,

Patient,

Loving,

Resilient,

Creative,

Expressive,

Healing.

You do not need to do anything in order to be loved.

Just find the love outside of you and you will come to know it as your own reflection.

Just as you can find the peace within yourself and you will come to know it as a reflection of the world.

There are no real barriers in this life.

Your skin is a doorway,

Not a wall.

Embodiment means to live in the threshold that encounters both.

Choose what you allow in,

Because that's what you will find without.

Take a deep breath as a way of pulling in whatever resonated with you,

Making it a part of you.

I would like you to now think of a limiting belief that is restricting you right now.

Something that perhaps lies beneath the habits you are trying to change,

The success you're trying to build,

The love you're trying to find.

Many of us believe we need to separate ourselves in order to cope,

Or that we cannot hold the depth of our feelings,

Or that we're not okay in some way.

Many of us believe we cannot change our situation.

Find a few moments now locating a limiting belief that you encounter every day and would like to change.

Make it into a negative affirmation,

Like,

I am unlovable.

I am unworthy.

I am broken.

Now imagine that this belief you have chosen is a pathway.

Every time something triggers you,

Or an external situation affects you,

You begin to walk down this path,

Using negative self-talk,

Restrictive thoughts,

Or painful emotions to validate it.

I'd like you to now imagine that you're standing on the forest's edge,

Facing a huge open field,

Full of tall grass,

Gently swaying poppies and wildflowers.

This limited belief you have chosen forms a pathway that cuts a straight line down this field from where you stand.

The ground beneath you is muddy,

Sodden,

And rocky from the constant upchurning of soil.

You have walked so many times down this road,

It has become like clay,

Baked and dried a thousand times by the sun,

Stamped flat by the consistent footfall.

As you walk down this path you see the expanse of this field,

The infinite ways it could be walked.

But because this road is clear and does not require much effort,

It is the easiest.

As you walk down this path and to its end,

You come to the center of the field,

Where you meet a tall,

Hollowed-out tree.

It is a ghostly figure that has been burned many times,

And there's almost nothing left of it.

Its skeletal trunk allows no plants,

No grass,

No life to live upon it.

The ground sweeps black dust up into the air,

And the sky offers itself to the storm,

Pulling all light into the ebony folds of thunder clouds.

This is where this limiting belief leads you every time.

This painful but convenient road leads you to this lifeless place.

There's nothing here for you.

It's a dead end.

In the hollow of this blackened tree,

Against a formidable skyline,

You notice something hiding in the hollow base of the trunk.

A small,

Muddy child's hand pulls itself out of the shadows.

They have been sheltering here in this darkness.

As they step out into the pale light,

You recognize them as yourself.

At an age,

You first found protection in this belief.

Your too-muchness or not-enoughness brought you here,

A place that offered you survival.

But instead of it being a halfway house,

It has become their permanent residence.

What did you come to believe about yourself that wasn't true all those years ago?

This road was first forged by them,

In a time when choosing the heart felt like a danger.

And every time you walk upon this pathway,

Every time you believe in that limiting belief or ath from fear,

They are with you,

Ushering you into the only place they know.

Take this child's hand,

Take that small and wounded part of you,

And lead them away from these desolate grounds.

Turn around and walk back to the forest line.

Help them back to where you are today,

And who you are today.

Now you both stand again on the edge of the field.

You can see your straight and narrow path back to the black tree,

The place of fear and protection.

You can also see a wild and thick field of flowers and tall grass without any tracks.

This is the vast potential of your ability to believe in something else.

What kept pulling you back to that same old broken road is often the fact you didn't know you could believe in something else.

And you see now how many ways there are to be in this world.

How do you begin to walk another path?

You begin to tell yourself the opposite of what you know.

You remember things you've never been taught.

You affirm your worthiness,

Your gratitude,

Your resilience,

Your openness,

Your autonomy,

Your curiosity.

Take the child's hand beside you and walk them into the unknown,

Into the thick field full of life.

As you walk it may hurt your feet or cut your thighs.

It may be a slow walk at first and it may feel like a struggle to keep going.

But this is important work and you must not fear the determination you need in order to forge this new path.

The more you walk this road the less it will sting.

The more the path will learn to grow outside of where your feet fall.

And with a little time this path will become soft and inviting.

Keep walking towards the center of the field.

Remind the child that they are safe,

That they belong,

That they are held.

Fear will always call them back to what they know but you have the strength and resilience in you now.

You're no longer a child.

You're not dominated by a part of your personality that was created a long time ago.

You are the one,

Dear beloved,

Who knows the ways of the wild and the secrets of the dark.

Keep going.

Keep the thoughts and emotions that align with love and you will arrive home.

You reach the center,

A flattened area of soft green grass beneath a huge tree,

Abundant with all kinds of different fruit.

It is a tree that sustains any life that is brave enough to find it.

And it offers more and more of itself the more you take.

This tree offers shelter not only in its deep roots but in its luscious and never-ending canopy.

All life thrives here.

You are surrounded by butterflies and bees and all wondrous things of this earth.

You are here,

You are nourished by love's love for life.

Ladybirds lace the trees outstretched branches.

The bows of birds in flight shoot across the sky.

Fur of wild things have been caught upon the tree's bark.

So much possibility rests in this animate space of openness.

You unfold the child's hand from yours and let them free to play.

You have returned the wounded part of yourself to the heart,

A place where all beliefs are rooted in curiosity,

Playfulness,

Openness,

Gentleness,

And gratitude.

This is where your wholeness resides,

Where all veins of self-love and stillness lead you.

It is a place of unprecedented healing and apothecary for the soul.

And what it takes to arrive here is a steady foot,

Determined to walk somewhere unknown,

To unlearn what you may believe about yourself.

Alas,

You cannot reside here,

For life pulls and will always pull you back.

But you can return over and over again.

Each breath will lead you here if you allow it.

Each time you disidentify with a painful thought and remember the power you have to believe in something else,

You walk yourself home.

Look back now at that path you've just taken to get here and see the faint shape of your wanderings through the high grass.

This is not just some ethereal concept,

It is a biochemical occurrence happening within your mind right now.

It will take a few times to make it clearer,

Easier to choose,

But if you focus your energy on choosing the path of the heart,

Those towards fear will rewild themselves all on their own.

And one day,

Dear soul,

Fear might just be swallowed up whole by the wild.

Who would you be then?

As you walk alone back towards the forest's edge,

You turn to see that innocent part of you laughing and playing in the eaves of love,

Where they belong.

The sun begins to set,

Freeing all the small moths and glowworms from their slumber.

The sky becomes a veil of gold,

To which all flickers in its light.

Having walked this path even once,

You have made it easier for yourself the next time you struggle.

Some days it will be hard for you to choose this road towards the heart,

Because fear might appear easier,

It will always offer the mind comfort through its false certainty.

But in those moments,

You will remind yourself of the child you left behind.

You will remember what they deserve and where they truly belong,

And strive to never take them back to that place you found them.

With one last,

Deep breath,

You walk onwards back towards the treeline,

With a heart full of possibility,

Knowing now that there is another way to see this world,

To see yourself,

And knowing that it all starts here within you,

Within the power of your imagination.

Life is defined by these two destinations,

Dear soul.

Can you walk the wild one,

With the compass that is your heart?

Can you imagine where that journey might take you?

When you're ready,

You may open your eyes.

A stunning meditation/visualisation - evocative, moving and deeply comforting. Anyone who is feeling lost and trapped in limited beliefs, give this a try. It’s a powerful reminder of our own agency, to return to and choose beliefs that help us rather than hold us back. Fear is convenient but rarely helps us move forward. Thank you for this beautiful offering Sez! πŸ™πŸΌπŸ’—

This was a very deep visualisation comparing our past life to a walk through wild fields. The walk we may have taken from a place of pain & the lost Inner Child who still lingers there. We are asked to take that frightened child in our arms and lead them to a happier place, represented by the Tree of Life. Then we are invited to forge a new path from that direction, for a new more positive self-image going forward in Life. Wonderful! I pray may it work for me & everyone who listens. πŸ™πŸΌNamaste πŸ™πŸΌ πŸ•ŠοΈπŸŒΊπŸŒˆ
