Hello,
My name is Salina Lael.
I am a transformational coach and an international teacher.
And today I'm going to speak about self-compassion.
The self-compassion is the willingness to meet ourselves with the same kindness,
Understanding,
And care that we would with someone who we love.
It is the practice of staying present with our experience.
Instead of turning against ourselves.
When we're hurting,
Struggling,
Or falling short of our own expectations.
For many of us,
Our first instinct when something goes wrong is self-judgment.
We criticize ourselves.
We replay our mistakes.
We tell ourselves we should be doing better.
Self-compassion invites a different way.
It says,
What if in this moment I didn't make myself wrong?
What if in this moment,
I responded with understanding instead of criticism.
Self-compassion isn't not taking responsibility or avoiding growth.
In fact,
It creates safety that allows real growth and healing to happen.
It's placing a hand on your heart when you're hurting.
And remembering that you're human.
That you are allowed to have difficult emotions,
Imperfect moments,
And challenging seasons.
It's learning to become a loving companion to yourself.
Rather than your harshest critics.
And perhaps most importantly,
Self-compassion is remembering that your worth has never been dependent on your performance,
Your productivity,
Your appearance,
Or getting everything right.
You are worthy of love and kindness and understanding simply because you are here.
That self-compassion.
