Welcome to this sleep meditation with affirmations for deep relaxation.

Whether it is time to go to sleep or you're taking a midday pause,

This meditation is a great way to relax,

To reset,

And to introduce or practice more uplifting,

Kind,

And positive ways of thinking.

I invite you to find a comfortable position lying down in bed or leaning back in your favorite chair.

Have whatever you need to get really cozy.

You want the body to be as relaxed and comfortable as possible.

As you start to settle,

Bring your awareness to your breath.

Feel the natural movement of the breath flowing in and out of the body.

With each exhalation,

Feel your body becoming heavier,

Sinking down into the support beneath you and behind you.

Your bones feel heavier,

Your muscles feel heavier,

Everything is starting to relax down.

Feel the small muscles around the eyes and the mouth,

Across the forehead,

Beginning to lengthen and soften.

Allow a space between your teeth,

Maybe your lips as well,

Allowing the jaw to release and a deeper sense of ease to be felt in the throat,

Maybe all the way into the heart center and the chest.

Take a slow,

Deep breath in,

And if it's comfortable,

Pause for just a moment and then exhale all of the breath out.

Inhale slowly and deeply,

Pause for a moment if that feels good,

Feel the body relaxed and then exhale,

Letting go of the day,

Any heaviness in your space.

Let's do this one more time.

Find a natural rhythm in your breath that feels relaxing and nourishing.

This is your time to rest,

There is nothing else for you to do.

You can give yourself this gift of just being.

Naturally,

Tension may release from the body,

The mind,

And the emotions.

All of this is okay.

When we practice affirmations,

It's not about trying to control unwanted thoughts,

But rather continuing to focus on the thoughts that we are choosing.

As you hear each affirmation,

I invite you to gently repeat it in your mind,

Feel the possibility of it awakening inside of you.

I release all worries and concerns.

I am relaxing with every breath.

I acknowledge myself for doing my best.

I am proud of my accomplishments,

No matter how small.

I let go of defensiveness and welcome joy.
