Welcome.
Let your eyes gently close.
And if you're here with me today,
I'm assuming your mind is likely exhausted.
You see when high achievers hit a major turning point,
The first instinct is to fix it.
So we treat painful emotions just like operational inefficiencies that need to be solved.
We often analyse,
We plan,
And we create endless mental loops,
Always searching for an exit.
However,
I'm creating this space here for you so you can just relax and you can recognise the noise in your mind that you hear with me right now.
And I'm creating this space just for yourself.
No one else.
Just for you to recognise the noise in your mind.
That noise,
It is only trying to protect you.
So we're going to learn how to lean into that.
And for the next few minutes,
Just give yourself radical permission to stop trying to fix this comfort.
Allow it just to be here.
You honestly don't need a solution today.
Not tomorrow.
Now let's take a deep,
Slow breath in.
And release it with a sigh.
Let's do that one more time,
Maybe four seconds in.
And eight seconds out.
Once again,
Four seconds in.
And eight seconds out.
Let your body weight drop into the surface beneath you.
And then just focus on the area of your chest,
Just breathing in and out.
It is quite normal at the beginning of a meditation that the brain and the mind will try to grab you.
So let's just allow it to be.
Let's just try and relax that grip and drop the focus down from your mind to your heart.
Where does the urgency live in your physical body right now?
Is there tightness in your chest?
A flattering in your stomach?
Tension in your jaw?
Are your shoulders tight?
Don't judge it.
Don't push anything away.
Just inhabit it.
This is your somatic truth.
Whenever you feel a wave of sensations,
Just simply return to your breath.
Let your body be a body.
And it just needs you to pay attention to it.
It doesn't need you to optimize it or to try and change it.
It's just asking for acceptance.
So let's allow,
Let's give full permission for these emotions,
For these feelings,
For this body to be without any judgment.
And return back to the breath.
Now place a hand gently over your heart.
Feel the biological rhythm beneath your palm.
Imagine breathing warm and tenderness directly into that tight space in your body.
Tell your nervous system,
I know we are in the unknown right now.
And that is scary.
But we are safe to pause.
We don't have to have the answers right now.
Just come back to your breath.
And feel that glimmer of hope and compassion that might have awakened as you were reciting those words.
That is your real truth,
My friend.
Unconditional love.
Always here.
Always within you.
Now feel the physical boundaries of your body again.
The floor,
The air on your skin.
And when you are ready,
Open your eyes.
Take this heart center stillness with you.
Thank you for practicing with me today.
