Welcome.
Thank you for joining me today.
We're going to be practicing the essence of mindfulness.
And what is mindfulness you might ask?
Well,
It is simply loving awareness.
Non-judgmental loving awareness.
So we just simply notice what comes up without any judgment,
Without any sense of label in it.
We just experience it and we let it go.
So please go ahead and get comfy.
Make sure that however you sat,
If it's on a cushion or chair,
That your back's straight and you have a sense of ease.
Your shoulders weight and you can just drop them and let them go a little bit.
Your arms are heavy and are resting gently on your lap.
You can cup them softly.
You can have them facing down for grounding or your palms facing up to receive the energy of the universe.
And just simply stay here for a moment.
Even before we start the formal practice,
This is your practice.
Just noticing where you are,
Not only in space and time,
But where are you in your mind?
Are you time-traveling to a near future?
Are you worried about what you did a couple of hours ago?
Are you overthinking?
Just notice.
Remember we are developing non-judgmental awareness.
So as it comes up,
Just let it go.
And to help with that,
Just take a deep breath in through your nose and sigh it out through the mouth.
Once again in through your nose and sigh it out through the mouth.
Once again in your own time,
In through the nose and a big sigh it out.
Now I just want you to focus on the area of your nostrils.
Finding your breath just coming in and out effortlessly.
Now just feel how your shoulders are relaxed,
Your arms are heavy.
Feel your palms.
Feel every cell within your hands.
Full of aliveness.
Maybe notice your thumb,
The space between your fingers.
Maybe notice your fourth finger,
Your third finger.
Just feel the spaces in between your fingers,
Your palms.
There's so much aliveness without us having to do anything.
Let gravity anchor you to the chair or your cushion.
And then just let yourself go.
Coming back to your nostrils and following your breath.
Now notice your legs,
The volume of your legs,
Your hips,
Thighs,
Down to your knees,
Your calves,
Your feet and your toes.
Can you feel your toes?
And now gently just open up to your entire body and feel the aliveness within.
Sweep from head to toe and feel how your body is completely alive.
It doesn't require for you to do anything.
It's simply living.
It's holding you.
It's loving you.
Now we're going to drop the focus to the area of your heart,
Your heart and chest.
That lovely and gorgeous heart of yours that is beating incessantly day in and day out with unconditional love.
And then just have a sense of that heart of yours that is beating constantly.
That same power is able to deal with any circumstances in your life.
So as you sit here,
Just notice any body sensations.
You may notice a thought.
You may notice tingling.
Simply label it and let it go.
If a feeling of fear comes up,
A fear of the unknown,
Just simply turn around and say,
Thank you for protecting me.
I know that you're here to protect me,
But I am okay right now.
And as you breathe into that,
Just gently let it go.
As you continue to open to the flow of life,
Don't wait for anything to come up.
Don't search for anything.
Simply allow it all to be just as it is.
Just come back to the breath.
And when you feel your mind has wandered,
Gently return to the breath.
You are safe here,
My friend.
You have everything you need.
You do not need to know the next step to fill the ground beneath you today.
The same ground that is supporting you.
It's within you.
As we come to the end of the session,
Just keep your eyes closed and listen to the following words.
The center of your being is happiness itself.
It's always content,
At peace,
Never troubled or anxious.
It was never born.
It will never die.
Never becomes sick or grows old.
It's always in a state of utter joy and love and bliss.
This is your most basic sense of being itself.
It is the very ground of your being.
Your spirit.
The most simple form of existence,
Consciousness,
That is eternally shining as the basic awareness.
That which is already living within you.
Now slowly wiggle your fingers and toes.
Come back to the space and take your time,
My friend.
Slowly open your eyes.
You don't need to rush your next move.
