Welcome.
If you're listening to this,
You are likely someone who's used to holding it all together.
You're capable,
You're driven,
And used to having all the answers.
But right now you might be standing in a space between who you were and who you're becoming.
Notice what your mind is doing right now.
Searching for a solution,
Creating mental loops,
And trying to outthink uncertainty.
You cannot think your way out of the raw space,
My friend.
The exit isn't in your head.
Now,
Just for these next few minutes.
Stay with me.
Allow your eyes to gently close.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in through your nose.
And let it out through your mouth with a soft sigh.
Do that one more time.
Deep inhale,
And an exhale,
Letting the shoulders drop.
Now,
Feel the weight of your body supported by whatever is beneath you.
You don't have to hold yourself up right now.
Let the chair or the floor take your weight.
This is your somatic anchor,
My friend.
Right here,
Right now.
You are totally safe to drop in.
Now,
Bring your awareness down from your mind,
Tracing a line down through your throat,
And resting your attention right in the center of your chest.
You might even place one hand gently over your heart,
Feeling the steady,
Rhythmic beat beneath your hand.
This is the practice of unbecoming.
Unbecoming the synthetic noise so you can inhabit your real,
Raw truth.
We're moving from rigid,
Manufactured existence to a grounded,
Biological flow.
You don't need to curate a performance here.
You don't need to be the strong one,
Or the successful one,
Or the one with a plan.
You're simply allowed just to be in this human body,
Breathing in and breathing out.
Just continue to follow your breath.
Don't try and change it or control it.
Just let it come in and out naturally.
No need to force it.
No need to push it away.
You might notice that different waves of feelings,
Thoughts and emotions may come up.
If a feeling of grief,
Fear or uncertainty arises,
Don't try to fix it.
Instead of fixing the problem,
See if you can simply hold it with tenderness.
Let the old identity gently unravel.
You don't have to know what comes next.
The only thing you need to do right now is regulate your nervous system and allow the noise to quiet down so the signal can eventually come through.
Now breathe into a stillness,
My friend.
Your heart is capable of holding it all.
You're stronger than you think.
Now slowly,
Begin to deepen your breath and feel the edges of your physical body again.
Feel your hands,
Your arms,
Your shoulders,
Your spine,
Your legs,
Your feet,
The ground beneath you.
Feel your body back into space.
And when you're ready,
Gently blink your eyes open.
Take this grounded flow with you into the rest of your day.
Remember you cannot build a new chapter on a fried nervous system.
Give yourself permission to inhabit this space.
