The truth is being given to us.
From the moment we're born,
We are in complete attunement with our bodies.
We laugh to express joy and love.
We cry when we're uncomfortable.
As we grow,
We read and scan environments,
Searching for approval.
Perhaps we learn that it's not safe to cry.
That if we behave in a certain way,
We wouldn't make someone else happy.
So,
Slowly but surely,
We are building an armour around us.
And soon,
We forget a net capacity to feel,
To know the truth,
To move forward with grace.
Difficult moments in life will call us back to the source in unexpected ways.
Sometimes through heartbreak,
Through illness,
Loss of identity.
The good news is that truth has never left your side.
It's been within you from the moment you were born.
We just need to relearn to open back and allow it.
Remember it.
And we're doing that by relaxing our bodies and opening your heart.
Relax your body and open your heart.
Over and over.
So that's what we're going to be doing today.
Relaxing our bodies and opening our hearts to find truth.
Gently close your eyes or lower your gaze and just pay attention to your breath.
The calming and soothing breath.
Feel your head,
The crown of your head,
Your forehead,
Your brow and your jaw.
See if you can relax your jaw.
Perhaps bring a soft smile to your lips.
Genuine,
Soft smile.
Being grateful for the opportunity to be here.
Scan your neck and your throat.
Your shoulders.
And imagine your shoulders slowly dissolving from water to gas.
Now follow your arms all the way down.
See if they were melting.
Follow your hands,
Your fingers.
There's space between the fingers.
And see if you can relax your hands.
Relax them again.
Now we're going to come to the area of your chest and your heart.
Feeling the breath going in and out of your heart.
From your heart to your belly.
And take the next breath with a softening belly.
Follow your breath through the belly.
Imagine a smile across your belly.
A melting sensation.
Your glutes and legs where they make contact with the floor or cushion.
Feel your pelvic region and see if you can relax in the area of your pelvic region.
Your legs,
The volume of them.
Your thighs,
Your knees.
All the way down to your feet.
And your toes.
And now bring your attention to your whole body.
Relax your body and open your heart.
If thoughts,
Emotions,
Sensations come up,
Just note that by relaxing your body,
You're allowing everything to come and go.
You're also learning to listen in a deep and intuitive way.
Just relax your body and open your heart.
Human notice,
Sensations come and go.
Contractions in your body.
Just simply notice it.
And relax your body and open your heart to it.
If your body tightens,
The chest contracts,
Or it feels a bit challenging,
Do not judge the contraction.
Just accept it as your body's brilliant biological boundary protecting you.
To find your whole body yes,
You must be willing to feel your whole body no.
So just come back to your breath over and over.
Relaxing your body and opening your heart.
There is no mental labelling.
No analytical mind.
We're just listening to how the body reacts to thoughts,
Emotions,
Feelings.
Where contractions come and go.
Where they're located in the body.
We just watch it with curiosity and open awareness.
Just continue for a few more breaths.
Pema Chodron teaches us that when things fall apart,
It's a kind of testing and also a kind of healing.
We think the point is to pass a test or to overcome the problem.
But the truth is that things don't really get solved.
They come together and they fall apart.
Your only job right now is not to solve the rest of your life.
Your only job is to drop into the quiet sanctuary of your own physical being and let the next beautiful chapter emerge organically.
Trust the pause.
Trust the space.
Now slowly come back to the other room.
Wiggle your fingers and toes and very gently open your eyes.
Thank you for being with me today my friends.
