Welcome,
Welcome to this nature connection meditation where we will take a few moments for some calmness and stillness as we connect to our bodies and to the ocean.
So just taking a few moments to find yourself a comfortable position,
Just making any adjustments you need and then if it feels good for you,
You can close your eyes or you can just choose one place in the room and just focus on it with a soft gaze.
And we're going to take a few transitional breaths,
A few deep breaths to transport us from where we are to a place of inner calm and inner stillness.
So breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Feeling this a few times at a speed that feels good for you.
And with each breath feeling yourself sinking into where you're sat and letting your feet melt into the floor.
Following the journey of your breath as it travels through your body.
Now imagining yourself standing on the beach,
Gazing out across the ocean.
Salt breeze moving across your skin.
Sea birds circling and singing above your head.
Gentle waves falling against the rocks and the spray of salt water making the air smell crisp and fresh.
I wonder how does it feel for you to be standing on this beach surrounded by the sounds and sights of the ocean and just noticing any feelings or thoughts that arise for you as you feel yourself in this place.
And then stepping over the rocks and looking down into the rock pools.
Just looking at the abundance of life that this ocean holds.
Seeing the schools of little fish darting.
Kermit crabs peeking out from their borrowed shells.
Sea snails edging across the rocks.
And the seaweeds making vast forests full of life.
And as you look at these strands of bright green and red and brown seaweeds swaying to and fro in the gentle current.
Just noticing how these plants and the tiny plankton drifting through the water,
These plants give us half of the oxygen that we breathe.
Every second breath coming from these ocean plants.
Every second breath.
I wonder how it feels for you to know about this relationship between the plants of the ocean and the air that fills your lungs in this moment.
The air that nourishes your body and brings life to our planet.
And as you stand looking across the ocean I wonder if any wish comes into your head.
A heartfelt wish for something that you would like to see for yourself,
For others or for the world.
Just imagining how it would be to witness this wish becoming reality.
I wonder what feelings and thoughts or images arise for you.
And now I just invite you to listen to the songs of the ocean for just a few moments as you crystalise your wish.
And now gathering in all of the thoughts and feelings into your heart as we leave this ocean scene and return to the physical sensations of our bodies.
Noticing the weight of your body against the earth and the movement of your breath as it travels through your body and back to the atmosphere.
And taking a few final breaths,
Filling your lungs with the rich oxygen from the plants of the land and the plants of the sea.
And when you're ready,
Opening your eyes and gently returning to the space that you are in.
