Welcome,

Wild ones.

My name is Lizzie and I'm the Nature Connection Guide and founder of SeaWild.

This meditation is gifted as part of the Big CIS CIC offering for International Women's Day and it's an invitation to slow down and reconnect with yourself and with nature.

In our time together today,

We will journey through our senses,

Through our bodies and out into nature.

So firstly,

Inviting you to find a position that will be most comfortable for you for the next 20 minutes or so.

So perhaps today that looks like lying down on your bed,

On the sofa,

On the floor,

Maybe with some pillows or blankets to create a cozy meditation nest for yourself or perhaps sitting up in a chair or on the floor.

Just taking some time to find whatever feels right for you and your body today.

Once you've found yourself a comfortable and supportive space,

If it feels good for you,

I invite you to let your eyes close.

But if that's not what feels right for you today,

Then you can let your eyes focus softly on the floor or the ceiling,

Out of a window or you can close your eyes slightly and let your eyes focus on the floor or the ceiling.

So let your eyes focus on the floor or the ceiling.

So let your eyes focus on the floor or the ceiling.

So let your eyes focus on the floor or the ceiling.

So let your eyes focus on the floor or the ceiling.

So let your eyes focus on the floor or the ceiling.

So let your eyes focus on the floor or the ceiling.

So let your eyes focus on the floor or the ceiling.

So let your eyes focus on the floor or the ceiling.

So let your eyes focus on the floor or the ceiling.

So let your eyes focus on the floor or the ceiling.

An interwoven dance of giving and receiving,

Connecting us all to nature wherever we are with each and every breath.

Just taking a few moments here to feel into that exchange between us and the plant beings of our planet.

Letting your focus drift now to your sense of hearing.

Noticing what sounds are making the unique symphony for you at this moment.

Observing noises which come from this recording and those that come from further afield.

Noticing all the sounds and welcoming each one.

And now noticing all of those places where your body makes contact with the surface beneath you.

Tracing the outline of your body in your mind's eye from head to toe.

And I wonder if you can feel any areas of your body that feel heavy,

As if held by the gravity of the earth.

Or if there are parts of your body that feel lighter,

As if floating featherlight on the air.

Returning your attention to those points of contact where your body meets the surface beneath you.

And imagine from those spaces that there are roots growing,

Curiously emerging and reaching down towards the earth.

I wonder what surfaces they meet as they grow down.

Down through the surface that you're laying on,

Down through the floor,

Down through the different rooms,

Down through the foundations.

And finally into the rich,

Dark soil beneath you.

And as they move through the earth,

I wonder what textures they will find,

What lifeforms they will encounter as they look around with curious eyes.

How does it feel to be reaching down into the dark richness of the soil,

Imagining the roots of other beings,

The trees,

The plants,

The fungi,

All intertwining with your own.

And I wonder if there are any messages that are being passed to you along these roots as you're cocooned in this world of warm,

Cozy darkness.

Spending a few moments here,

Exploring with your roots,

Reaching out and connecting.

And as we explore this environment,

This network of our roots,

I wonder if your heart has a wish or an intention that wants to come into being.

A wish for yourself,

For loved ones,

For women across the planet,

For nature beings,

Or for the whole world.

And using your imaginal senses now to place yourself at the heart of the reality of that wish,

Imagining how it would feel to witness this wish becoming reality.

And noticing what feelings,

What emotions,

Feelings,

Sensations and images arise for you as you do so.

Gathering all of those emotions and observations into your heart,

Holding on tight to that wish as we depart this imaginal space and return to the physical sensations of our bodies.

Feeling your curious roots untangling from the other roots you have met on your journey.

Sensing them rising up,

Up through the layers of the soil,

Up through the floorboards,

Up through the ceilings,

Through the ceilings and back into your body.

Holding whatever messages or wisdom that the roots of the nature beings brought to you today and to your heartfelt wish.

As we return a gentle awareness to the outline of the body,

Noticing again the weight of your body against the earth and the movement of your breath as it travels through your body and back to the atmosphere.

Tapping in once again to that cycle of giving and receiving,

Connecting us to those plants to those plants of land and sea,

Connecting us to nature wherever we are with each and every breath.

And slowly,

Gently coming back into the space that you're in as our journey comes to a close.

Maybe exploring some small movements like wiggling your fingers and toes and then some bigger movements,

Maybe stretching arms and legs,

Wiggling shoulders.

If it feels good,

A big full body stretch.

Just taking this time to notice the effects that this,

This meditation,

This time for connection to yourself and to nature has had for you.

Noticing any changes that have arisen in our time together.

Then when it feels right,

Slowly rolling onto one side and transitioning to a seat.

Enjoying a few more moments of stillness here and then when you're ready,

Opening your eyes slowly and returning softly back to the space that you're in.

Thank you for joining me on this journey of connection to ourselves and to nature.

I hope that this meditation supports you in having a peaceful day and a restful night and a restful night with love and gratitude from my wild heart to yours.

Thank you.
