Welcome,

Wild ones.

This is a short mindfulness practice inspired by the slowness of snails.

These nature beings are masters of taking things at their own pace and sharing their wisdom of slowness with us in the hustle and bustle of modern life.

Together with snail,

We will focus on our breathing and noticing how slowness feels in our bodies today.

If it feels good for you to do so,

You may close your eyes for this practice.

Or let your gaze soften if closing your eyes doesn't feel good for you today.

So beginning by taking a few transitional breaths.

Some deep breaths at a pace which suits your body today.

And with these breaths,

Letting yourself move from wherever you are in your day into a place of stillness and slowness.

Taking some time to land and connect with your breath,

Your body and your inner ecosystem.

And now feeling into the energy of snail.

Beginning to consciously slow down each inhale and each exhale.

And with each cycle of breath,

Inviting more slowness as long as it is comfortable for you to do so.

Feeling free to return to a normal pace of breathing at any time.

And as you embrace the slowness of the snail,

Noticing how this slowness feels for you today.

Feeling into any sensations,

Images or emotions that arise from you as you breathe at a snail's pace.

And ending as we began,

By returning to those transitional breaths.

This time moving from this space of stillness and slowness back into your day.

And letting the pace of your breathing return to its usual ebb and flow.

Thank you for joining me for this practice,

And for gifting yourself this time to slow down,

Reconnect to yourself and explore your connection with nature and nature beings.

Sending gratitude to snail for the wisdom of slowness.

And know that this wisdom and the slowness of the snails is always there whenever you need it.

Wishing you all a grounded day and a peaceful night,

With love from my wild heart to yours.
