In a race,
All the runners run,
And yet only one wins the prize.
Run in such a way as to win the prize.
Welcome to day 26 of Lent,
My dear friends.
Today's meditation is another one of encouragement,
To keep on keeping on.
To begin,
I invite you to be still,
Which simply means to find a comfortable position in a space relatively free of distraction,
Where you can quiet your mind,
Close your eyes if you feel safe and comfortable to do so.
Adopt an attitude of gratitude and non-judgment.
For today's meditation specifically,
It's particularly important to observe a posture of non-judgment toward oneself,
And embrace a heart and mindset of peace and loving-kindness.
In a race,
All the runners run,
And yet only one wins the prize.
Run in such a way as to win the prize.
1 Corinthians 9.
24 This passage reminds us that life is like a race,
And we are all runners in this race of life.
In contrast to an actual race where only one person can win,
In life,
There are countless ways to win,
And it's at least theoretically possible for us all to win.
2 Corinthians 9.
24 As we meditate on this passage,
Let's remember that the race of life is not a competition against others.
In fact,
We get to help each other,
Carry each other,
And one of the best ways to win is to help others win.
Yes,
It's not a competition against others.
Instead,
It's kind of a competition against ourselves.
Let us strive to be the best version of ourselves,
And to run or live in such a way as to achieve our goals and fulfill our calling in life.
In a race,
All the runners run,
Yet only one wins the prize.
Run in such a way as to win the prize.
Thank you for meditating with me today,
My friends.
Today,
May you run this race of life as if to win,
And may grace and peace,
Light and love be with you.
