Hey hearkeners,
To begin this meditation,
I invite you to gently close your eyes,
Let your breath slow,
Let your soul settle like still waters.
Be still.
Today's meditation is upon Pope Leo's chosen motto,
Inilo uno unum,
Which translates to in the one,
We are one.
In the one,
We are one.
These words,
Echoing the theme of Psalm 127,
Invite us into a sacred mystery,
That though we are many,
We are made one in God.
Unless Adonai builds the house,
Those who build it,
Labor in vain.
We are not the architects of unity,
God is.
Our oneness is not crafted by striving,
But given in grace.
In the one,
We are one.
In the words of Yeshua,
May they all be one,
As you Father are in me,
And I am in you,
That they may be one,
Even as we are one.
This is not a unity we must create,
It is a unity already given to us in God.
Whether many or few,
Scattered or gathered,
We are one body.
One spirit breathes in us all.
In the mystery of Messiah,
All divisions dissolve.
In the one,
We are one.
In the one,
We are one.
Breathe this truth in deeply.
Inhale,
We are many.
Exhale,
In God,
We are one.
Inhale,
In the one.
Exhale,
We are one.
There is one body and one spirit,
One hope,
One faith,
One God and parent of all,
Who is over all and through all and in all,
Ephesians 4.
In the one,
We are one.
In the one,
We are one.
In God,
We live and move and have our being.
In God,
We live and move and have our being.
Acts 17.
28 We belong not only to God,
But also in God,
To one another.
In the one,
We are one.
Inhale deeply,
We are many.
And exhale gently,
In God,
We are one.
In the one,
We are one.
Inhale deeply,
In the one.
And exhale gently,
We are one.
In the one,
We are one.
In the one,
We are one.
Thank you for spending this time in contemplative spirituality with me,
My fellow hearkeners.
As you return to the rhythm of your day,
May you carry with you the sacred truth that in the one,
We are one.
You are not alone.
You are held in God and in the great communion of love.
And as always,
May grace and peace,
Light and love be with you.
