Hello my dear hearkeners,
And welcome to our Bible Meditations for Mental Health series.
Today's meditation is on anxiety.
To begin this meditation.
I invite you to close your eyes.
Let's observe that with this simple act of closing your eyes,
Your mind quiets down.
Your spirit slows down.
And even your heart rate can have a tendency to slow.
This is one of the quickest,
Easiest ways to be still.
Let's enter this meditation with this spirit of stillness,
An attitude of gratitude and non-judgment.
And a heart and mindset.
Peace.
And loving kindness.
Anxiety is persistent worry.
Tension.
Or fear.
About what may come.
It raises the mind.
Tightens the body.
And steals the ability to rest in the present moment.
Anxiety often whispers.
You're not safe.
Even when God's presence surrounds us.
Let's take a look at some scripture passages that can help us with anxiety.
Do not be anxious about anything,
But in every situation,
By prayer and petition,
With thanksgiving,
Present your requests to God.
And the peace of God.
Which transcends all understanding.
Will guard your hearts and your minds.
In Christ Yeshua.
Philippians chapter 4 versus six and seven.
Cast all your anxiety on God.
Because God cares for you.
1 Peter 5.
Therefore,
Do not worry about tomorrow.
For tomorrow will worry about itself.
Matthew 6 verse 34.
God does not ask us to manage anxiety alone.
God invites us to release it.
As we offer our worries through prayer and gratitude,
God fills the space anxiety once occupied with peace that surpasses understanding.
Yeshua calls us back into the present moment.
Reminding us.
The tomorrow.
Has already helped.
Adonai.
I place every anxious thought in your hands.
Guard my heart and my mind with your peace.
" Guard my heart and my mind with your peace.
Draw me back from tomorrow and into this present moment with you.
Draw me back.
From my worries about tomorrow and yesterday.
And into this present moment with you.
Amen.
Thank you for meditating with me today,
My dear hearkeners.
I look forward to guiding you again soon.
And until then.
Me grace and peace.
Light,
And love.
Be with you.
