Inspired by Native American teachings and wisdom, this meditation is an invitation to sense into seven different directions, directions that are present at all times. Sean Fargo leads us through this practice, inviting us to gently and curiously sense what is all around and within us. It is a practice that expands our awareness.

Settling into the body,

Finding a posture that feels balanced,

Upright,

Light,

Dignified.

Some people like to sit with a strong back and a soft front.

And maybe just wiggling a little bit to find a way of being that feels balanced,

A way of being that feels balanced,

Alert,

And supple at the same time,

Connecting with what's below,

Grounding the body,

Grounding into the body,

Noticing how we're breathing.

And where can we find the sensations of the breath in the body?

Breathing with this embodied presence.

This embodied presence.

Now,

Including in your awareness the space in front of you,

Having your eyes gently closed,

Or looking downward,

Sensing into the space in front of you,

Sensing into the front part of your body and how it's connecting with the space in front of you.

Noticing how far in front of you you can sense from the body,

Noticing how far in front of you you can sense you may feel that you're radiating energy outwards in front of you,

Or receiving energy from in front of you,

Or feeling distinctly separate,

And just sensing into this space in the front side of your body.

And now shifting our awareness to the right side of the body,

And sensing into the space to our right.

Sensing into the space to our right.

From the right side of our right foot and leg,

Neck,

Torso,

Body,

Arms,

Shoulders,

And head,

Sensing into the right side of the body and the space on the right.

Shifting our awareness to the space behind us,

To the backside of the whole body.

From the back of the heels and the ankles and the calves,

The hamstrings,

The bottom,

Back,

And back of the head.

Back,

Back of the head,

Its connection with what's behind.

Sensing what's behind us.

Sensing what's behind us.

Sensing what's behind us.

From the back of the body,

Shifting our awareness to the left side of the body.

Left side of the left foot,

Ankle,

Leg.

Left side of the torso,

Body,

Arms.

Left side of the neck and head,

Ear,

Feeling,

Left side.

And what a consensus with this space on our left.

And now shifting our awareness to what's above us.

And our connection,

The space above the body,

Above the shoulders and the head,

Sensing into the energy.

Are we radiating energy up or receiving energy?

Or is there a distinct separation?

Noticing any connection with the space above us.

Shifting our awareness to what's below us.

And noticing how this space feels below.

Sensing into the earth energy or solidity.

Sensing into the earth energy or solidity.

Anything that you can sense underneath you right now.

And now shifting our awareness to the inside.

Of the body.

Sensing into the different energy from the skin inward.

The energies in the body.

Now expanding our awareness to sense into energies outside the body.

In front,

To the right,

Behind you,

To the left,

Above,

Below.

Sensing into the space around the body.

How does that feel?

Sensing into the energy of the body,

In the body.

And around the body,

Together.

Simply sensing.

And may we bring the same quality of awareness to the rest of our day.

Maybe taking a deep breath or two.

And opening your eyes whenever you're ready.
