Allow the body to relax and begin to slow the breath.
Allow yourself to settle into a place of relaxation.
Take all the time you need to get cosy and warm,
So that you feel safe and comfortable to rest here a while.
Allow the muscles,
The joints,
The bones to settle and relax.
Allow eyes to close and allow yourself to surrender into the earth.
In our minds,
I am going to take a journey to somewhere very special.
As we head to the magic and mysticism of Cornwall and the sacred place of St.
Necton's Glen.
As we start our journey,
We find ourselves on a track alongside a bubbling stream.
It is a beautiful sunny day and the sun shines through the branches of the trees above you,
Casting shadows of leaves and branches gently swaying in a warm breeze.
The sound of the water trickles and splashes over rocks.
And in this place you feel connected to the elements.
The warmth of the sun,
The ground beneath your feet,
The gentle breezes and the trickling water.
As you make your way down over this gentle path,
You absorb the warmth and the fresh air of the day,
Allowing your arms to gently swing at your sides and you feel calm and joyful in this place.
As the path begins to slope downwards,
You begin to descend into a beautiful wooded valley,
Where the sound of water grows stronger and you sense there is a waterfall ahead.
But before we reach it,
We take in the sights and sounds of this gentle path dipping into the valley.
We begin to get a sense that we are moving into a sacred place.
Upon the branches of the trees around you hang ribbons and trinkets,
Wishes and prayers for those who have been there before you.
If in your mind's eye you wish to tie a coloured ribbon or charm to one of the trees,
Feel free to do that now.
It may be a wish or a prayer,
It may simply be a way of acknowledging your presence here today.
If you have tied a ribbon or charm to the tree,
Perhaps you stand back now to admire your work,
Or simply enjoy all the colours of the ribbons hanging from the trees before you,
Gently dancing in the breeze.
And leaving the ribbons trees,
We continue our journey down into the valley,
As we come to steps that lead us deeper down,
Towards the sound of roaring water.
And each step we take,
Down deeper into the valley.
The deeper we sink,
The deeper we travel.
The sound of the roaring water fills our ears,
And everything else falls into silence.
We no longer hear the sounds of traffic,
Or the sounds of other people,
Or even the sound of birdsong or leaves rustling.
All we hear is the white noise,
The power of the water.
And as we take our final steps to the bottom of the valley,
Our feet touch upon flattened stones.
We have reached the riverbed.
We turn to face the source of noise,
Cascading water,
Frothing white and misty,
Cascading through a great hole in the rock,
Mist and fine spray rising like steam from the water.
So captivating is this place,
That before you know it,
You've peeled off your socks and shoes,
And waded into the water,
Crystal clear and sparkling.
You walk towards the waterfall,
Feeling the mist and spray gently kissing your cheeks.
So close are you now to the waterfall,
You see it looming up above you.
All sounds falling away to the sound and the power of the water.
And as the water splashes,
It forms mists and froth that engulf you with droplets,
A fine mist,
As if just for a moment you have entered another world,
And everything else has fallen away.
And just for a moment you sink down onto your knees,
And then under the level of the water,
To take a moment in the underwater world of this magical place.
For a moment there is nothing,
There is quiet.
And then gently we rise up above the waterline once more,
To the roaring sounds of the waterfall.
You wipe the water from your face and hair,
Smiling and laughing.
You begin to see around you the rocks slick with moss and algae,
Are also home to charms,
Trinkets,
Ribbons.
Tributes placed there in honour and love of this place.
Offerings of food,
Seeds and honey for the fairies and the pixies.
And you know that for just a moment you have been awash with magic.
Awash with this cleansing,
Beautiful water,
And empowered by the waterfall before you.
As you gently rise from the water and walk slowly away from the waterfall.
You find hanging upon one of the low branches a towel and new warm clothes for you to wrap yourself in.
You feel cleansed and refreshed,
Empowered,
Positive and excited for the journey that lays ahead.
And as you take some time to once again put on your socks and shoes,
You sit on a fallen log and absorb the power of the elements around you.
The sunshine,
The water,
The earth,
The air.
The magic of the elementals is here for you to bask for as long as you wish.
Allow yourself to soak up the magic of this place for as long as you desire.
