Dear ones,
The meditation before you is a sample of a 30 day meditation I have created for Insight Timer based on the phases of the moon.
There'll be a full 30 days for this course but this one was just so special I couldn't resist sharing it with you now.
It's the moon goddesses.
This would be day 3 on the 30 day course and I just wanted to share it with you so you can get just a little idea of some of the love and magic that has gone into this course and I hope that you enjoy it and you don't mind me sharing it with you now.
Greetings friends.
So yesterday we explored the dark with the new moon and often in the night sky to our naked eye each phase of the moon seems to last a few evenings.
So it might be up in the sky right now,
The moon still looks new.
So in between our work with the moon phases I will bring in some other ideas that we can work with with the moon.
I'll work with a little bit with myth and legend and also about the beautiful names that we give the full moons as we journey through the year.
And so today's meditation is exploring beautiful myth and magic as we explore some of the goddesses of archetype and myth that connect to the moon.
The moon is almost always in mythology portrayed as a woman because the energy of the divine feminine reflects the cool and calm intuitive nature of the moon and moon cycles but also in full knowledge that the moon can move oceans when it wishes to.
So both powerful and intuitive,
Strong and calm.
The moon like the divine feminine is all things.
So let's journey into a meditation and maybe we'll meet a few of those moon goddesses tonight.
Let's allow ourselves to relax in a space that is warm,
Comfortable and safe.
You can close the eyes or let the gaze be soft as we begin to relax into our space.
Peaceful and unhurried breaths.
Letting the limbs soften as we let go of any tension or tightness in the muscles,
The joints,
The bones.
Allowing the breath to guide us to a place of calm and peace.
Each exhale a release.
Letting go of tension,
Tightness or busy thoughts.
You are safe to relax in this space and allow yourself to be supported by the earth beneath you.
In our minds eye we find ourselves standing in front of a great marble temple.
Tall columns rise up to support a large roof and you note a beautiful glass dome on top of this roof that must open up towards the sky.
As your eye travels upwards you see the stars sparkling above you.
The night is dark but the temple is well lit with flaming torches and candles.
Oil lamps burning,
Casting golden light over this temple,
This temple of the goddess.
In ancient cultures people created the goddesses using things they knew to explain things they did not.
So they drew the best elements of themselves as humans,
Strength,
Passion,
Intuition and knowledge and created the archetype of the great goddesses.
So when we connect to the energy of the goddess we are really connecting to energy of ourselves,
Power that is within.
The goddess can inspire us to reconnect and find strength.
And you are excited by this possibility as we walk up the steps of the temple and through two great tall wooden doors we move into the temple space.
We find more lights and more candles lighting up the room.
Bowls of incense burn and scent drifts around the space.
As you move into the central room of the temple you look up and once more see that great glass oculus through which just as you predicted you can see the night sky.
This space around you is beautiful.
There are bowls of shining red grapes and fruits,
Figs and olives.
Candles burn and in the corner musicians play gentle music.
The atmosphere is calm but joyful.
A beautiful woman in a silver robe gently touches your arm.
She smiles and guides you to a bench covered in silver material and beautiful plump pillows of greys and blues and silvers.
As you sit down and make yourself comfortable more women in silver robes appear.
One hands you a delicious drink in a silver chalice.
Another drapes you in beautiful sparkling fabric like a cape covered in sparkling stars.
They are preparing you to meet the goddesses and you feel excited if a little trepidatious.
But soon enough after you have had a few sips of your delicious drink and have laid back upon the comfortable cushions you feel at peace,
Content with this beautiful space.
From this place of calm and rest you look up and all of a sudden the goddesses are here.
First to sit beside you is the Celtic goddess Ariane Rod.
Her name means the silver wheel and as she spins her silver wheel she weaves the fates of humans.
She weaves the threads of days and nights.
It reminds you that you also have this power to weave and create your days exactly as you wish them to be.
Next the Greek goddess Selene appears.
The titan goddess is huge and gorgeous.
She glows with moonlight.
Selene possesses a glowing chariot powered by beautiful white horses and each night she pulls the moon across the night sky.
And it is said that Selene is so powerful that she can pierce illusion and connect us to our intuition.
Awakening the abilities we already possess but sometimes need reconnecting to.
Selene reminds us to use our intuition.
It is our innate power and a connection to our own inner goddess.
And our third beautiful goddess tonight as goddesses so often like to travel in threes.
Once again a Greek goddess.
This time it is Artemis the goddess of the hunt,
The wilderness,
Of wild animals and the moon.
Artemis loves to be free,
To run through the woodland with her animal friends.
She is tied to no one.
She answers to no one.
And she reminds you as you make your path and your intentions as you plant your seeds of dreams.
You have the power to embrace your own heart,
Your own dreams and your own passions.
Let no one else lead you.
Your path is your own.
As these three beautiful goddesses sit beside you,
You laugh and smile.
You feel supported by their presence,
Comforted and emboldened by their power.
They smile and laugh.
It is always like this they say.
The power is within you always.
All we have to do is remind you.
So you sit joyfully in this place.
Maybe wild Artemis rises to dance with the music and Selene embraces you in a hug with her great huge arms.
Maybe Ariane not weaves just a little silver bracelet of thread around your wrist.
The goddesses and you spend time in this joyful place enjoying each other's company.
And although it seems the time comes so soon that it is time to leave this beautiful temple of the goddesses and of the moon.
The goddesses smile and wish you well on your onward journey as you travel with the cycles of the moon.
They remind you that the power is always within you and they will help watch over you as you journey.
So as we begin to unravel from our meditation we'll take a little stretch,
A little move and flicker the eyes open when you are ready.
Welcome back beautiful goddess.
Thank you for joining me today.
I look forward to seeing you tomorrow as we continue to move with the cycle of the moon.
Mm.
You Thank you.

I studied about the Greek gods and Goddesses, imagining them as parts within me. Although Iβve never meditated on them, Iβve imagined climbing a mountain to an ancient open air temple for insight. As a Cancer, I am guided by the Moon. So when your meditation combined all if this, it felt personal and powerful. I look forward to listening to your 30-day course about the phases of the moon, and the new moon is in 3 days. Thank you for presenting it.
