Namaste, hi, ni hao, lay ho! She's genuine, inquisitive, and (has been working on being) present.. but she normally goes by Sandra. When she first encountered the phrase, “home is where the heart is,” she struggled to relate to its meaning. How could home exist in any form other than four walls and a roof? It wasn’t until her journey brought her to New Zealand, the United Arab Emirates, and Taiwan that she realized 'home' is built from the connections formed, the cultures celebrated, and the differences embraced. Above all, 'home' is feeling at peace with your decisions, surrounding yourself with non-judgmental communities, and peeling open another layer of the self courageously as another day passes. Yoga, to her, plays a core role in doing exactly this. Her yoga and mindfulness journey began when she spent her days teaching in schools. What started as an intention to integrate wellbeing into the school curriculum turned into a desire to make yoga accessible to people from all walks of life around the world. Right now, she guides yoga practices for teens, couples, athletes, retirees, and her wider community. At the same time, she is a mental health practitioner in the making, with a vision to blend yoga with counselling down the road. Clients leave her class feeling challenged yet relaxed, and are always encouraged to go at their own pace with her support. She values starting each practice with pranayama and exploring the synchronisation of breath with movement.
