Rescue Me Hello Beloved,

We,

Like many people,

Dream about having someone to swoop in and fix all our problems,

Those worldly challenges around our relationships,

Loved ones,

Family dynamics,

Around our careers,

Finances and overall well-being.

What most of us long for,

Especially when we're in crisis,

Is a quick fix,

Looking for a recipe that instantly fixes our loneliness,

Insecurities,

Fears,

Unhappiness and uncertainties.

The irony is that nothing outside of us can ever make us feel good inside.

Our actions based on attachment to a person,

An outcome or to force feeling recognized and appreciated by others will always disappoint us.

Our actions based on aversions towards a person or an uncomfortable experience will force us to numb our emotions and maybe even self-sabotage.

Maybe we can foster a nurturing mindset,

Even if it lasts for one breath.

What if we could delicately hold our feelings and emotions in a way we would hold a soft kitten,

A sweet bunny or an adorable puppy in the palms of our hands with care and kindness?

Would it be possible for us to sit just for a moment in a place that feels safe inside,

A place that might feel like bubble bath,

Candle flame,

Soft music,

Feather light and bright like a clear blue spring sky?

Here and now,

Together,

Can we imagine a tender feeling of compassion towards ourselves?

Towards our body,

Who is doing its best to keep up with the expectations of our mind?

Here and now,

Towards our brilliant brain with its billions of neurons and messaging systems?

Here,

Towards our breath,

A symbol of life and the constant change we experience?

Let us place our hands on our heart,

The way that resonates with us at this moment,

And take a few loving breaths towards the self we are making friends with,

One breath at a time.

I love you from my heart to yours.
