Losing weight.
Today I ask myself if I need to lose some weight.
I repeat the question with one different word.
Do I want to lose weight?
I take a moment and think about losing the weight.
And I realize that I actually don't want to lose anything in life.
I don't want to lose my job,
My house,
My partner,
My pets.
People don't want to lose a parent,
A child,
Their own precious life.
So why are we asking ourselves if we need or want to lose weight?
Of course,
The body is going to hold tight to itself and the mind is going to resist to the fact of a loss.
So I rephrase this question.
Do I want to replace stored energy for muscle?
I don't use the word fat or waste or anything negative to offend myself,
But simply use positive words like reserved and stored energy.
This makes me feel better about my choices and I feel more in control of my own body with all its cushioning,
Its bungee cords,
Its millions of sacks,
Its pillars and rods,
Its soft parts and dense parts.
I respect my body and I choose to replace stored energy for strong muscles so I can live a healthier life for myself.
