Closing the year,
Blessing the way forward.
Beloved soul,
Let us pause here for a moment.
Take a slow,
Steady breath in,
And let it go long and slow.
As this year comes to a close,
I invite you to gently set it down.
Not with force,
Not with judgment,
But with reverence.
There are chapters of your life that have ended.
Not because you failed,
Not because you chose wrongly,
But because their purpose has been fulfilled.
Like Rilke reminds us,
In spirit,
Life does not rush us forward.
It asks us to live the questions fully,
Until they soften into wisdom.
You do not need to revisit the same thoughts,
The same fears,
The same moments of discomfort again and again.
What needed to be learned has been learned.
What needed to be felt has been felt.
Nothing was a mistake,
Everything was an invitation,
An experience.
Let the past year rest now in your rear-view mirror.
Offer it gratitude for what it taught you,
Even the lessons that arrived disguised as pain.
You may glance back for awareness,
For perspective.
For understanding of where you've been,
But your eyes are meant for the road ahead.
You cannot move forward by staring behind you,
And you do not need to carry the weight of who you once were into who you are becoming.
As Rumi's wisdom echoes through time,
What you seek is not lost.
It is unfolding through you now.
Every step you took,
Even the uncertain ones,
Strengthened your ability to trust yourself.
So today,
Bless yourself.
Bless the courage it took to endure,
The softness you did not lose,
The strength you didn't know you were building until you looked back and realized you survived what once felt unbearable.
As you step into this new year,
May you move slowly and deliberately.
May your steps be small but true.
May your decisions honor your heart and protect your health.
May love meet you in expected and unexpected ways.
May abundance arrive without struggle.
May clarity replace doubt.
May your body feel safe,
Supported and at ease.
May you trust your timing.
May you trust your inner knowing.
May you choose what nourishes you and gently release what does not.
This new year does not ask you to be perfect.
It asks you to be present,
To listen,
To keep walking,
One kind,
Intentional step at a time.
You may wish to sit with these questions and let them percolate in your mind for a while.
What does moving forward with kindness toward myself look like now?
What would trusting myself one step at a time feel like?
And what am I ready to let go as the year comes to an end,
To make room for something new as the new year begins?
Let these words,
Let this practice softly land on your heart space,
Sending you love from my heart to yours.
