Hello,
My name is Sam and welcome to this meditation to bring your day to a close.
The day is done and it's now time to rest.
So either find a comfortable seat in a soft chair or get into bed and settle down.
If it feels good,
Close your eyes.
Relax into your body and elongate your legs away from your hips.
Gently stretch your hands away from the shoulders.
Lengthen through your spine so that your posture is good no matter what position you're in.
Take a full breath in and let it go.
And as we let go of the day,
We let go of the day's tensions.
Allow your body to soften and release any stiffness and stress.
Notice the quality of your breath right now.
Its speed and its rhythm,
Its consistent and reliable rhythm.
Appreciate the oxygen that fills your lungs and breathes life into your body,
Feeding you,
Nourishing you.
Silently give thanks for each precious breath and the miracle of the body and its ability to take care of this important function without even a thought from you.
Feel the glow and the warmth of gratitude inside of you.
Now take another deep breath and as you let it go slowly,
See if you can melt your body just a little bit more into the chair or bed.
Let the following words of gratitude lay over you like a soft blanket,
Wrapping you in comfort and covering you as you drift off to a deeper place.
Thank you for this day and opportunity to rest.
Thank you for this breath.
Thank you for my body.
Thank you for this place to lay my head and the comfort of my home.
Thank you for the people in my life whom I love and who love me.
Thank you for the challenges,
For all the ways they encourage me to grow.
Thank you for my work and the services I get to provide.
Thank you for the happenings of the day.
Thank you for all of the technology and tools I have access to that brings so much convenience into my life.
Thank you for the help and support around me.
I know that I am loved.
Thank you for the money I have that keeps me fed and safe.
Thank you for the kindness I receive from others.
Thank you for my dreams,
The visions and goals that keep me inspired.
Thank you for the opportunities to give love and to support others.
Thank you for the beauty of nature all around me,
The plants,
Animals and elements which all remind me I am part of a big extraordinary world.
Thank you for this day and the opportunity to see it to its end and bring it to a close.
Thank you for the deep rest that is ready to embrace me and will rejuvenate me for another magical day ahead.
I now let this day go with love and look forward to the next and all of the surprises,
Miracles and blessings that await me.
I am deeply grateful for it all,
Everything that makes up my beautiful,
Imperfect and miraculous life.
