What's up,
Phoenixes?
And welcome to your meditation practice.
This is day one of 21.
In this meditation,
We are going to be working into how we feel safe in our body.
So often,
We are so afraid of really feeling into our emotions,
Really feeling into what is present for us.
And what we get to do and what we get to access by really feeling into our body is so profound and so,
So magnificent.
I just want you to find yourself in a calm position.
Taking a deep breath in through the nose and out through the mouth.
Just focusing on taking deep breaths,
Deep intentional breaths.
And each time you exhale,
Just allow yourself to sink deeper and deeper into a beautifully relaxed state.
There's nowhere to be.
There's nothing to do.
Just allow yourself to gift yourself this time.
Be present with yourself.
Over the next 20 minutes,
We're just going to be softening into our bodies,
Feeling into your body.
And I want you to hold on to the mantra,
It's safe for me to feel.
And as you are deepening your breath,
Just feel your shoulders drop and relax.
Just feel your entire body just sinking into the surface.
Just feeling so supported,
So alive and so rested.
Just go ahead and feel into your heart.
Feel into the softening of your heart.
Just notice your body relax as you soften your heart.
Just notice how good it feels just to surrender and relax.
And your mind may want to take you to another place.
If it does that,
Just bring your attention back and repeat the mantra,
It's safe for me to feel.
Now go ahead and just relax your chest.
Any sensations you're experiencing in your chest that may feel tight.
Just breathe into those sensations.
Whenever we're experiencing sensations,
What we need to remember is we are not those sensations.
We are just experiencing those sensations.
We're just a space for those sensations.
They are just existing within us.
We are not them.
Just take a breath.
Just observe that those sensations are happening.
Just be okay with that.
Just breathe through them as you relax deeper and deeper into your body.
And as you're relaxing and intentionally focusing on relaxing,
Just silently repeat the mantra to yourself,
It's safe for me to feel.
It's safe for me to feel.
It's safe for me to feel.
It's safe for me to feel.
What we get to remember when we are doing this work is our body is not going to give us anything we can't handle.
All the sensations in your body are happening for you to learn from,
To grow from,
To accept,
To love.
You are just the observer of these emotions and these sensations.
As you're feeling into your body and repeating the mantra,
It's safe for me to feel.
Just remember that nothing is going to overwhelm you.
You are so capable,
So capable of handling all of the emotions that arise in this moment.
What we so desperately crave is to feel safe in our body,
To experience the sensation of safety in your body.
Maybe as you're doing this practice today,
Maybe you've done this practice a few times,
Maybe you've not yet been able to access the part of you that feels safe and that is totally okay.
The beautiful thing is we get to show up and we get to continually do this practice,
Do this meditation until we can start to feel what safety feels like in our body.
For so many of us,
We feel so disconnected,
Head and heart,
Mind and body.
Coming into this space and feeling into our body allows us to access all of our emotionality,
Including our safety.
So it's all there for you.
Don't rush the process.
It's all there for you.
If you are having trouble finding safety in your body right now,
Don't judge yourself or don't think that you can't.
Just be curious.
Be curious about when you're going to be able to because it is inevitable.
So coming back into the breath,
Taking a few deep breaths in through the nose,
Out through the mouth.
Feeling yourself surrender,
Feeling yourself present,
Noticing your emotions,
Noticing how you feel.
And just continually repeating the mantra,
It's safe for me to feel.
Maybe there's a part of you that feels scared to feel,
Part of you that is resisting feeling,
A part of you that maybe is distracting,
Trying to think of your to do list or what you are going to be doing after.
Maybe that part of you is present.
Just take a moment and just let that part of you know that you're safe.
Maybe it wasn't safe to feel in your body when you were younger.
Let your body know that you are now in a position where you are able to handle your emotionality.
You're able to handle what arises and what comes up for you and you are so powerful to be able to fully feel into these emotions,
Heal them and transcend them.
We heal through feeling.
You cannot heal any other way.
We have to go into our body and heal through feeling.
It is an inside out job coming back into the body,
Healing our relationship to food,
Healing our relationship to ourselves,
Reclaiming our power.
We cannot do that externally.
We cannot do that by reading more books or listening to more podcasts.
We do that from within.
We are doing that now just by listening to this meditation.
So breathing in through the nose,
Out through the mouth,
Repeating the mantra,
Really feeling into the felt sense of safety or being curious about where you're going to access safety in your body.
You are the trained seer.
It's safe for me to feel.
It's safe for me to feel.
Each sensation has a gift.
Each sensation has a voice.
That is the voice of the body communicating to you exactly what it needs.
We get to listen.
We get to honor.
We get to come back into the body and really understand what is going to heal our bodies.
We do that through listening,
Through being open,
Being curious.
Just coming back into the body,
Bringing your awareness back to the breath,
Taking some deeper breaths in through the nose,
Out through the mouth,
Just waking up the system,
Waking up the body,
Moving your fingers and toes,
And just moving your body in a way that feels good,
Stretching out your back.
Just taking a moment and just blinking open your eyes,
Taking in the room around you,
Noticing what you may have not noticed before,
The colors,
What you notice,
What you notice that's beautiful.
And today,
As you go throughout your day,
Remember to come back to the mantra,
It's safe for me to feel.
And remember that your body is the place you get to live from,
From your emotions,
From your heart.
Enjoy the rest of your day.
