In this practice, we use visualization and concentration on the center of the forehead to tap in to our energetic insight. We use slight pressure on a marma (energy) point at the center of the forehead to stimulate our concentration and then set an intention for greater insight into our next steps.

Welcome.

As we begin this meditation,

Please find your way to a comfortable seated position or laying down on your back.

Wherever you are,

I invite you to create a straight spine to feel an evenness between right and left,

A steadiness in the body,

A sense of balance.

You might choose to close your eyes or you can continue to have a soft gaze in front of you.

Then we're going to take the right hand.

You're going to bring the pointer finger right to the center of the forehead,

Right like center between left and right,

Center between the hairline and the eyebrows,

Right at the center.

You gently press the pointer finger at the right hand into that space in the center.

Just feel that gentle pressure right here.

Bring that gentle pressure at the third eye center,

Right at the center of the forehead.

You might even feel your attention,

Your energy flow a bit more to that area.

In Ayurveda traditional Indian medicine,

There is a marma point that is right here.

It's an energy point similar to places that you would place needles for acupuncture.

This is just the Ayurvedic version.

So we bring some energy,

Some attention to this third eye center,

Ajna,

To move beyond our visual sight,

The physical sight of the world around us,

Into our insight.

The sight not of just the forms around us but of the energy around us,

Where we want to go.

You need to make some small circles with the finger here on the forehead,

Just gently massaging this space right at the center of the forehead.

Just these slow,

Steady rotations,

Bringing some new attention to this area,

To our insight,

Then going beyond the physical.

Begin to understand the more energetic level,

Where it is we want to be,

Who it is we want to be,

Where we want to go.

Again,

Greater understanding of the world around us.

Your next breath,

You can release the finger from the forehead,

But it'll still allow the energy and attention to flow to this area.

Breathing steadily in and out,

Maybe you feel as if the breath is traveling to this third eye center,

And that as you exhale the breath travels from the third eye center out through the nostrils.

Be aware that you want a lightness here,

So you don't want to feel like you're straining the eyes or the forehead in order to concentrate this attention.

It's like a light concentration,

A light pressure to that area.

With the concentration at the third eye center,

As if the rest of the world is covered in a fog,

It's you,

Your body,

Your breath,

And your attention flowing to Ajna,

To this space in the center of the forehead.

Now,

If there's this tiny little flashlight at the center of the third eye,

The center of the forehead,

You can see just one step ahead the fog clears the tiniest bit to create a little space in front of the body.

With this new vision,

With this new space around you,

What do you see?

What is available?

Is there anything in the clearing up ahead that gives you information on your next steps?

Maybe it's physically the next place you want to go,

The next thing you need to do,

Or it's the next place you need to bring attention or energy.

Simply noticing what it is that comes to you here,

Not judging what it is you find,

But listening and seeing physically and mentally what it is you want next.

Again,

Perhaps you don't see physically what you want next.

Maybe a different question to ask yourself is,

How do I want to feel?

And how does this next step feel?

Slowly start to notice the rest of the fog dissipate and becomes spaciousness around you.

Your attention can remain at this third eye center and return to the center of the forehead.

Now there's a sense of clarity and space around you.

You now have this ability of both physical sight as well as the energetic insight.

Your next breath,

You'll draw the palms together,

Start to rub the palms against each other,

Generating some heat here between the hands.

Going as slow or fast as you need to generate a little bit of friction,

A little bit of energy between the palms.

When the hands are warm,

Cup the palms over the eyes,

Creating this darkness around the gaze and the eyes are closed.

You slowly open them into this darkness,

Feeling the muscles of the eyes relax,

Then slowly release the hands away from the face,

Once again having both the physical sight and the insight,

The energetic insight.

Knowing that you carry these two versions of sight with you and that you can bring that to the rest of your day.

Thank you so much for practicing with me today.
