Hello dear ones and welcome to tonight's bedtime story,
Wendy's Dreamland Adventure.
So just taking a few moments to arrive in your bed,
Getting yourself all nice and comfortable,
Nice and cozy.
Maybe you want to take some long long stretches or maybe a few yawns or sighs,
Release the day.
This moment is for you,
There's nothing more that you need to do today,
There's nowhere else you need to be now other than here.
So you can relax and let go of the day and listen to this bedtime story that I wrote for you.
In the small sleepy town of Windmere,
Where the moon bathed the rooftops in silver and the stars shone like scattered gems,
Lived a young girl named Penelope.
Penelope was not your ordinary girl,
She had an imagination as vast as the night sky and a heart full of wonder.
She spent her days reading tales of adventures and dreaming of faraway lands beyond the clouds.
Little did she know that tonight,
Her dreams were about to come true.
The wind whispered through her open window as Penelope lay curled beneath a soft quilt.
Her room,
Adorned with books,
Seashells and painted stars on the ceiling,
Felt cozy and magical.
As her eyelids fluttered and sleep began to claim her,
A soft tinkling sound filled the air,
Like the chime of delicate bells.
A faint golden glow appeared by the windowsill.
Penelope opened her eyes slowly and gasped.
Hovering there was a tiny creature with wings and a mischievous smile.
Penelope,
The little creature said in a voice like a gentle breeze,
I am Laura,
Guardian of dreams.
I have come to take you to the land of Evermore.
Evermore?
Penelope whispered,
Her heart fluttering.
What is that?
Laura grinned.
It is a place where dreams come to life.
A land of endless skies,
Enchanted forests,
And shimmering seas.
You are meant to see it.
Come,
Take my hand.
Penelope hesitated for only a moment before reaching out.
As soon as their fingers touched,
A warm light surrounded them.
The walls of her bedroom melted away,
Replaced by a vast expanse of starlit sky.
They soared higher and higher,
Carried by the wind.
Penelope felt as light as a feather,
The world below shrinking until it was no more than a distant memory.
They floated through clouds that smelled of vanilla and drifted past moons that glowed softly.
Penelope's heart swelled with excitement and peace,
All at the same time.
At last,
They arrived.
The land of Evermore unfolded before them like a dream.
Rolling meadows glistened with dew that sparkled like diamonds.
Rivers of liquid starlight wove through emerald forests,
And towering mountains kissed the horizon.
Soft music floated on the air,
Carried by unseen musicians.
Penelope's feet touched the ground gently,
And she felt the cool grass beneath her toes.
It's beautiful,
She breathed.
Laura twirled in the air.
Come,
There is so much to see.
They wandered through fields of moonflowers that bloomed under the starlight,
Their petals unfolding in slow,
Graceful movements.
Fireflies the size of marbles flitted around them,
Leaving trails of glittering light.
As they walked,
Penelope noticed a grove of trees with leaves that shimmered like silver.
In the heart of the grove stood a great tree with bark as white as snow and branches that reach toward the heavens.
That is the Dreaming Tree,
Laura explained.
It is the heart of Evermore.
Every dream that has ever been dreamt begins here.
Penelope felt a pull toward the tree.
She placed her hand on its bark,
And images bloomed in her mind's eye.
She saw children flying through the clouds,
Animals speaking in soft,
Melodic voices,
And endless adventures unfolding in lands she had never known,
But felt she had always belonged to.
They continued their journey,
And soon reached the shores of starlight.
The beach stretched as far as the eye could see,
And the sand shimmered like crushed pearls.
Waves of midnight blue water lapped gently against the shore,
And each ripple was dusted with starlight.
Penelope waded into the water,
Feeling its warmth seep into her skin.
In Evermore,
Laura said,
The sea holds every wish ever made on a star.
When the tide comes in,
It carries the wishes out into the universe,
Where they may one day become true.
Penelope closed her eyes and made a wish of her own.
She wished for courage,
For adventure,
And for the ability to hold on to wonder.
No matter where life took her.
They left the shores behind and ventured into the enchanted forest.
The trees here had trunks carved with swirling patterns,
And their leaves glowed softly,
Casting a golden light on the path.
Creatures with eyes like lanterns peered out from the underbrush,
Curious but unafraid.
At the heart of the forest,
They came upon a clearing where a great silver pool lay still as glass.
Laura led Penelope to its edge.
This is the mirror of memories,
She said,
Looking to its waters and see the moments that made you who you are.
Penelope gazed into the pool.
At first,
The water was still,
Then ripples spread across its surface,
And images began to form.
She saw herself as a little girl,
Building sandcastles by the sea.
She saw her first time riding a bike,
Wobbling but determined.
She saw the day she rescued a bird with a broken wing,
And the hours she had spent under the stars,
Dreaming of far-off worlds.
Tears pricked her eyes.
I had forgotten so many of these moments,
She whispered.
They are always a part of you,
Laura said softly.
Every dream you have ever dreamed,
And every hope you have ever held within you.
Penelope felt a peace settle over her heart.
She turned to Laura,
Her eyes bright.
Thank you for bringing me here,
Laura smiled.
It's time to go home now,
Penelope.
But remember,
Evermore will always be within you.
They soared once more through the night sky,
The stars winking their goodbyes.
The world of Evermore faded like the end of a beautiful dream,
But Penelope carried its light within her.
When she opened her eyes,
She was back in her room.
The first rays of dawn were peeking through the curtain,
Casting golden light across the walls.
She sat up slowly,
Her heart still full of wonder.
From that day forward,
Penelope faced the world with a new spark in her eyes.
She knew that no matter where life took her,
There would always be adventures waiting just beyond the horizon,
And dreams as vast as the night sky.
And every now and then,
When the wind whispered through her window,
And the stars seemed to shine just a little brighter,
She would close her eyes and remember the land of Evermore.
